Fantastic tool. I've always used my husbands Dewalt reciprocating tool, but it is awfully cumbersome for me. This Dewalt reciprocating tool is perfect for me, it is smaller & lighter. Yet, it works as hard as the bigger one :)

    • Best Landscaping Tool EVER!!!
My new go-to gardening/landscaping tool. Lightweight (less than 5 pounds with a 3 AH battery), versatile, ergonomically comfortable (easy to switch from left hand to right hand when getting into tight spots), easy to use one or two handed. Using with 3AH batteries - gives me plenty of time to work. I always need a break before my fully charged saw runs out of battery life. FYI - this is not in use for mere landscape maintenance. Husband (with chainsaw) and I have been slowly hand-clearing quick growing invasive trees from a half acre lot. You can’t imagine how fast these demon trees grow lol. Chainsaw is too heavy for me and way too much maintenance. This wonderful “grab and go” tool is a game-changer, allowing me to get into tight places my husband hasn’t had a chance to get to yet. Easily saws through up to 4” branches, would probably do more, but safety first. Also cuts through roots with no worries about running into rocks (my carbide blades actually cut cleanly through rocks - just once by accident, but boy was I surprised). The only thing it won’t do is cut thin, floppy branches. Since the saw goes back and forth, it just grabs those and shakes them. Minor, since I can easily cut those with loppers anyway. I would have gotten one of these years ago if I had known how life-changing it would be. Love this tool! :-) ... show more

Man this saw is awesome! It's compact and powerful. Easy to operate. I can hold part in left hand and cut with saw in the right hand. Sawzalls are so big and awkward. This is a better tool. Dewat batteries last longer. Changing blades is easy and quick

    • More ergonomic design versus original portable reciprocating saw.
This saw was purchased to initially tackle heavy pruning and cutting up small trees and limbs 5" in diameter or less. I can attest that using this saw with a high quality 9" pruning blade saved me at least two days manual work and a worn out shoulder. Cutting through 3" dried buckthorn was a breeze. That was something my highly sharpened pruning shears could not do. It also sawed through 5" ash wood no problem. As with any power tool it took some learning to get the best cutting angle and just let the saw do the work rather than forcing it. This saw will also be used to replace all my old mismatched home plumbing. A mixture of copper, galvanized steel, cast iron and who knows what else I might find. For plumbing I purchased a carbide tooth steel blade made hard metals and cast iron. Some pipes are in tight spots that I do not want to contort myself into accessing. I also have plaster walls I don't want to cut access panels into. If they were drywall that's a different storey. As some have already noted this is a versatile tool that can be used for many different things which also added to the appeal for me. ... show more
