  • Unsafe. Could have killed someone.
New out of the box Dewalt D155140 air compressor. The main air manifold had a large crack and the pressure gauge was spun all the way around to zero and is stuck. Clearly indicates a major overpressure during QC testing. I am extremely livid with dewalt for allowing pressure vessels out of the factory that are compromised and completely unsafe. It’s this kind of complacency that kills people. Shame on Dewalt for placing myself and my family in harms way. ... show more

  • Great small compressor, works in my 400 Watt truck outlet, works with brad gun
This air compressor was the perfect size for what I was looking for. My truck has a 400 Watt inverter plug (2015 Toyota Tacoma), and this compressor runs in that outlet. I used this to air up my tires after driving on the beach, and it really worked well. It's much faster than a smaller 12 volt compressor, and much cheaper than the powerful high end 12 volt compressors. It's also not that noisy, in comparison to other compressors. Update: I used this with a Bostitch brad nailer (BTFP12233), and it definitely worked. I used up to 2" brads, and I shot it into white oak boards. The results were clean. This compressor had the power to run it, but it recharged after a handful of brads. Conclusion: this compressor should work for hobby grade applications. ... show more

  • Incomplete guessing game
I'm so very pissed off after purchasing this air compressor. I know nothing about air compressors, other than the fact that I needed one for a pressure pot for resin casting. It was small enough, affordable enough, and well reviewed. Obviously others know what to expect from a DeWalt, whereas I did not. Here is what is wrong with this thing: 1. There is no air hose. Nope, no hose at all. If you're a beginner, and looking for a complete package, THIS IS NOT IT. 2. The hose that comes up as a suggested selling item via Amazon does not fit this compressor. According to the documentation, it has a "Universal Quick Connect", whatever the heck that is. Whatever it is, it's not part of the hose Amazon suggests as an accessory for this compressor. 3. This "Universal Quick Connect" isn't so damned "Universal" after all. I bought what I thought was a Universal adapter to try and get some use out of the wasted air hose (see above point). Guess what? It did not fit this compressor. Universal, my ass. 4. So now here I am with this universal adapter, I figure I'll just replace the adapter on the air compressor. Unless you have an open ended wrench to get the supplied plug off of there, good luck. Remember, I'm a beginner. I don't have a lot of tools, nor adapters, not experience, nor money. WTF, how the heck do you get this damned thing off of here. 5 Why the holy f*** is there no hose with this thing? I mean, really? WTF... Again, if you're looking for a complete package, avoid this at all costs. If you're an expert, and know what you're doing, great, but if you're a beginner like I was, this is most certainly not the product to get. Physically go to Home Depot or Lowes and actually talk to someone. Hopefully they'll inform you of what you actually do need to make use of this. ... show more

  • A great little guy to have around
I’ve had mine for about 15 years (before Amazon & iPhone?) This is flawless for my trim guns and pin nailer and palm nailer, toys and balls, etc. I take it on road trips with my Honda generator and it takes care of all my tires, 5th wheel trailer and super duty p/u with some patience. To mr shelbe.....no hose advertised in ad... if you can’t make this simple and quality machine work you need to hire someone ... show more

  • Compact Power
I purchased this Dewalt compressor unit because I wanted a small, reliable product and light weight that could easily be put the trunk of a car and transported without a lot of worry about tying down. I don't do a great deal of nailing but have found that this unit has the power that I required and was able to be used with my framing nailer and drive 3 1/2" nails with a fairly rapid pace. At first I had trouble with a small leak in the airline connection and this greatly affected the compressors performance as it would with any unit. But after taking the time to properly wrap all line connections with teflon tape and make all connections tight it performed perfectly for my usage. I like the overall design and low profile also the idea that with the 4 point leg supports it will not want to tip over when taking corners or stopping quickly in the car or when placed on an angle, it is also light enough that it can be fully portable when required.A great unit. • Great Light-Duty Air Compressor
The other postings are correct in that this is a quiet little unit. Did the factory-recommended 15 minute run-in / break-in cycle with the tank valve open. Then shut the valve and the little compressor re-started right up, came to pressure, shut itself off as advertised. Cycles on when using the air just as it is supposed to. I used it to air up my golf cart tires and it worked flawlessly. Nice and light to carry around. Nice thing about the tank blow-down drain valve is that it is a 90-degree through valve so it shouldn't rust shut like on other cheaper units with threaded metal tank drain valves. Rubber feet make it stay put on the floor and remain quiet. Small enough and unobtrusive enough that you could install a DC/AC power converter in your SUV and keep this little baby in the truck/Jeep to air up ties whenever needed. Highly recommend. Will repost again after a few months of usage to document reliability. ... show more

  • Regulator is garbage
Ordered the first compressor and the regulator was leaking instantly. I was going to take it apart and fix it myself but did not want to since it was brand new so Amazon sent me a replacement. Sure enough I plugged in the replacement and same issue. Poor regulator design. Easy fix but sux you have to take her apart out of the box. Just unscrew the regulator all the way and when you can't no more give it a hard turn and it will pop the pin out and the valve cap will come loose. Take out the spring and the plunger and I'm the bottom you will see the collapse oring. Pop it into place and problem solved. ... show more
