DeWalt is making real nice tools in their new 20vmax line. This is the first time I've started adding novelty tools (seldomly "needed") just to fill out my collection. They are all so nice that I can't stop buying them. Since I have a decent collection of batteries I can buy "tool only" versions at reasonable cost. Once in a while I find myself needing to be able to drill or drive in tight spaces. I've always resorted to hand tools in the past. The drill is beefy and solid. The motor is smooth, as is the control. It has two ranges of speed and good, fine control with the trigger. You can crawl at a snail's pace easily. The chuck on this drill is interesting. It's hard to explain but how it locks when turned with your hand is easier than most and seems to have a positive locking set point, as opposed to cranking down as hard as you can as with other chucks. It's also a very small chuck, probably to keep the footprint down since the drill is used in small spaces by nature. With a typical (2" or so) bit the drill measures under 6". Obviously you'll lose space with the length of the screw being driven but you could also switch to a stubby bit to gain almost an inch. The one issue that I've noticed with the drill is that you can't get much pressure behind it because of the length or the handle and leverage obtained when holding a tool like this is. But that's the nature of how the tool is used and not a defect. ... show more

For the longest time I was considering purchasing an angle drill, but wasn't quite sure which one select, despite being fully vested in the Dewalt 20v platform. I'm glad I stuck to Dewalt. Love this drill. It's light, it's thin enough to get into hard to reach places, and very ergonomic. It's not brushless, but that is inconsequential since I don't use it with the same frequency as other power tools. ... show more

Having tried some other options of air powered 90 degree drills, this was a good buy. With a variable speed trigger and plenty of power was very easy to drill were I needed in a tight place and keep control.
