  • So far, its Awesome!
Bought this off Amazon a few days ago and Im putting it through the paces using it outside and inside, while working on my driveway, Im using a dewalt 20v grinder to cut the cracks so I can seal them up, and when the battery dies on the grinder I am recharging it off the radio while using another battery, it charges the batteries up quick and gives a great charge, Ive plugged in a couple other tools into the radio, and they worked great, I adjusted the +/- eq to the setting I like, and the radio sounds really good outside, makes the time fly while working.I keep my cell in my pocket and adjust the volume up or down while the radio is 10-50 feet away or farther, when I get a phone call, the call goes right to my cell speaker, and not through the radio which I prefer. the radio picks up stations well,no static like from some radios, the bluetooth is a newer version and works great. Using the radio on the inside of my home, I just crank it up in my weight room and sounds better than my boom box Ive had for a few years, it can get pretty loud for a small "boom box" , So far the feel is pretty rugged , buttons are well placed and easy to use, Ive charged my phone while using the radio with the usb port , no issues at all. I like that when I go to the flex volt batteries for my 20 v, and when I start getting 60v tools this radio will not be obsolete. Im happy I picked this one up, Great job DeWalt! Thumbs way up! UPDATE: 06/15/2017 Bought the flexvolt 60v 6ah battery DCB606, and used it in this radio and I got 3 days of playing the radio at medium volume on 1 charge, when it finally died it took exactly 2 hours to charge the same battery with this radio. ... show more

  • Loved it so much, I got two of them!
I bought one of these for my shop, and used it primarily for listening to music and audio books while I worked. I started taking it all over my property with me for the same reason. Any DeWalt battery will last forever in it, and it's loud enough to be heard over the noise of my other DeWalt tools while I'm working. It's also very rugged. I've dropped it several times and never made a dent in it. When I built a hunting camp halfway up the mountain, I realized my cell phone would go dead in the middle of my hunts and I couldn't check the time at the end of the day to know when it was 30 minutes past sunset. I would also bring a digital recorder to record wildlife, and that battery would die within a few hours. I finally remembered that this DeWalt Bluetooth Radio was also a generator. So, I brought it to my camp and never had to worry about charging my phone and recorder ever again. I've had it up there for over a week now and haven't had to replace the battery in it. Just in case, I simply throw an extra DeWalt battery in my drag bag and bring it with me. Since I don't want to lug the radio back and forth, I decided to buy a second one for my shop. They're well worth the purchase. ... show more

  • Quality Dewalt Portable Bluetooth Radio
PRO’s: good quality, lots of ports to charge electronics, sound quality good and love that you can plug it in and not have to use 20v batteries, and the batteries are a great option when no electricity is available. CON’s: way overpriced and very heavy. Not easily carried. Accurate description.

  • Exactly what you are looking for!
Need tunes? This is the one to get. Perfect for the garage, mancave, back yard, patio, tailgate, beach, camping and pretty much anywhere you want music - would even be a good home stereo for most as long as you don't mind a yellow stereo. Also a good emergency radio for a power outage due to a storm so you can still listen to the weather report during a storm (happened last night, glad I had this). Good bass, good volume, good sound quality, good reception. Haven't used it long enough to comment on the battery life. It even has 2 a/c outlets to plug in other corded items. Haven't used them yet but really like that that feature is available. My brother in law is a contractor and uses it on the job for music and charging batteries. He brought it to our family camp reunion the last 2 years. I was so impressed with it that when I decided to get a portable Bluetooth speaker, I didn't have to shop much. I already have some DeWalt tools that use compatible batteries so this was a no-brainer. Now it goes everywhere with me, work or play. Save yourself some time shopping and buy this. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Very power efficient
Excellent quality radio and much better battery efficiency than similar items by Craftsman. A 1.5ah battery gets me somewhere between 8-10 hours of use before I have to charge again

  • Indestructible?
I bought this radio before doing some major repairs on my house (reframing onenolpart, siding, and a new roof). It's been left out in light rain several times (and snow once), and even fell two stories off my roof yesterday. Not a dent in it and it still works like new. Sound quality is better than most of the garage radios I've had. I'm sure there are better sounding radios, but it's good enough to get the job done. It's also loud enough to hear on the other side of the house if you turn the volume up enough. I can't directly attribute battery life to the radio since that's more to do with the batteries I use, (6ah 20v max), but it has never ran the battery out even when it's been ran for 20 hours without charging. I've used the outlet on the side but I still haven't tried running a 15 amp load off of it. For some reason most radios have trouble picking up stations from inside my garage, either due to my location or a fluke in the placement of steel/ wiring in the structure, but this radio has not had a single problem. ... show more
