    • Good battery compressor, but loud
Worked perfectly for our needs. I need nail guns for several projects, primarily a 16Ga finish nailer and a framing nailer. Some of these projects are not going to be near a power outlet, but I also don't want to spend $300+ for each of the various nail guns with all the issues around DeWalt nailers. In any case, with that in mind I went looking for air compressors I could use away from a power source, yet also could use inside without problems with CO from a gas compressor, and this one stood out. It uses the 20V DeWalt batteries I already have, plus comes with a FlexVolt battery (although I don't see any indication the FlexVolt battery is a better one to use with this at all ... no "FlexVolt Advantage" branding) and charger to add to my collection. The controls are as intuitive as can be, and it's easy to stay in the proper pressure range for pneumatic tools. All that said, it isn't silent. In fact, it is head-splittingly loud in an enclosed bedroom when pressurizing. That said, I think that's just what you have to deal with on air compressors getting over 100psi. Just don't come into this thinking "this is battery so mostly silent". It is not. Also, in my experience we would drive about 3-5 finish nails before the compressor had to kick on again to re-pressurize the tank, so you have to deal with this noise at regular intervals. So: wear ear protection while using this, especially inside! Last note: make sure you order a hose etc to connect to any tools you might be buying separately. The kit *only* includes the compressor, battery, and charger. No extra connections for actually using the compressor. There are plenty of kits here on Amazon to fill that need (or at your local hardware store). ... show more

    • Effective, portable, battery powered compressor
This is a good, general purpose battery powered compressor. The 2.5 gallon tank is big enough for small jobs, and there’s enough PSI without about 1.0 SCFM to inflate, blow, and run small tools (brad nailers, etc,). The Flexvolt batteries are a little pricey, but for portability or use when power isn’t available - this does a good job. ... show more

Tank is small and doesn’t hold enough air! Using it to inflate car tires causes it to cycle the three lousy times and kills a 6amp hour battery! 2.5 gallon air compressor! I purchased it thinking multi purpose and it is definitely not! I own almost every DeWalt tool there is and this is the only disappointment! ... show more

I wasn't too sure about buying a cordless compressor. I'm convinced that I should have purchased one long ago. It's great and I would recommend one for anyone intermediate jobs. Good battery life.

    • Needs Improvement - Loses pressure over hours and louder than expected
I wanted this for some time and watched several reviews. It seemed promising, but I was disappointed. Three key issues: (1) It loses pressure from fully pressurized to nearly empty over 4–8 hours, and I checked all valves—it must be internal. (2) The 6Ah battery didn’t last the day, even with sporadic use. (3) It’s louder than expected, louder than my old Porter Cable pancake compressor of similar size. I also wish it had an AC power option and USB charging. In the end, it’s just not suited for daily cordless use. I hope this helps others. ... show more

    • Just right if used within its limits
I love this compressor. The first one I bought had the valve broken off of it when when it arrived. The next one I got has held up very well. Not too loud but definitely not quiet. Keeps up with a small nailer or stapler just fine. I'd give a higher review if it was quieter. Depot has better deals on this product quite often. ... show more
