The unit is bright, functional, easy to use, and has versatile ways to use it sitting, hanging, etc. it is a large light but you definitely get a lot of light. It will easily light a large room. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

I am really happy with this work light. I can hang it from the rafter in the center of my garage and it nicely lights up with whole 2-car garage. It has a rafter hook on the bottom that swivels out and works great. The Tool Connect feature works great as well. I can hang it high and then just use my phone to turn the light on or off, check the batter status, etc. It's easy enough to tote around too. I recently replaced several light fixtures which meant I was working in an otherwise dark room with the room lights disconnected, and this thing brought plenty of light to the rooms as I was replacing the room's light fixtures. I own all but 1-2 of the DeWalt 20v lights and this is probably favorite. The amount of light it puts out is massive and it's portability moves it ahead of the tripod.

I have a ton of DeWalt tools, and their build quality is always durable and professional quality. How much time gets wasted on a job site when you have to find a free outlet and roll out a cord to get adequate lighting before you even start to make any money? I thought this was a little pricey at first, but it's big, bright, and rugged. Since I like to work late, it didn't take me long to start putting this to use. It comes with tripod mounts, but it also sits solidly on any flat surface, either upright or on its side. It even has a folding hook on the bottom to hang it somewhere. it has several light output levels, but the lowest gives out plenty of light for most situations. ... show more

This has been a great addition to my growing DeWalt collection. It's definitely bright enough for most any situation and the way it's designed and with the built in hook it is a very versatile as far as placement is concerned. My only complaint is battery life. I like others really didn't think an LED light would draw so much power but it's a trade off I guess. Another design feature that would have been nice would be a 110v plug to run it without a battery. Seems like they could have used the same design the small fan uses with a hidden plug behind the battery slot. But with those two complaints this is still a great light and another good DeWalt tool in my lineup. ... show more

So if you're like me and have a handful of Dewalt tools, chances are, you also have a handful of Dewalt batteries as well. The tools were used intermittently so most of the time the batteries just sat on my shelf undisturbed. So I figure I should get some 20 volt Dewalt tools to maximize battery use and justify purchase. So I bought this light from right here on Amazon. Since owning, I have used this blinding light for fixing cars, gardening at night in the Summer time, night fishing and camping. The only time I had to change out the battery was when it was used for camping. It outshined all of my friends' Coleman propane lanterns combined on high mode. There were 5 of them. With a 6ah battery, on medium, it lasted pretty much from dusk till wee hours of the night. The battery was not completely out but I switched it out anyhow. I placed an 8ah battery and it lasted till the next morning. The only issue is the weight. Since it's kind of heavy, it cannot be placed onto a Coleman lantern stand. However, I solved that issue by using a camera light C-Stand which I already own. C-stands are heavy duty and can hold plenty of weight. You can see the Coleman lantern stand and the c-stand next to each other on these images. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. I bought the Dewalt tripod light and though it is versatile, the light output lags behind this one. The illumination dispersion on this light is also much greater than the tripod light since it illuminates at 360 degrees. ... show more

    • Way brighter than I thought!!
I live this light. Super bright!! I like the hook on the back that you can hang from 2x4 or rafter. I feel the battery door should be dustproof. I especially like the tool connect feature on your phone so you can dim the light to any brightness. I wish the handles were made of different material that doesn’t scratch so easy. I lay it down on the shop floor under the truck and slide it and it scratches it. My only other issue is I wish Dewalt made a 120v plug for it like my radio. That would be super handy so you don’t have to keep replacing batteries when you do have electricity. All in all it’s a great light. ... show more
