  • Read this if you're having chronic warping issues on your Tundra/Sequoia
I've gone through rotors and pads - even going so far as to replace my calipers - in an attempt to resolve premature brake "warping". These rotors were my latest go at the problem on my Sequoia. After reading a Raybestos technical write-up on the impossibility of truly warping rotors, I was struck with all the things I had been doing wrong during my previous installations. They claim rotors, if the proper thickness, will not and cannot warp. Instead, if they're installed incorrectly, the will not be parallel to the hub, causing a runout (wobble) that causes the rotor to ever-so-slightly rub on the brake pads while driving (not braking). This deposits brake material on the rotor (if ceramic pads) or grinds away the high spot of the rotor (if metallic pads) within 3-5K miles. Then, when the brakes are depressed, the high/low spots translate into pulsation everyone claims is a "warped" rotor. To properly install the rotor, three things must happen: 1) The mating surface between the rotor and the hub must be spotless, clean, and smooth. Any rust or material that prevents the rotor face from sitting perfectly flat will cause run-out. 2) After verifying surfaces are clean, mount the rotor (with caliper and wheel removed) using the lugs. Then with a run-out meter, verify that that the rotor turns true (<0.002"). If there is more run-out than this, rotate the rotor on the hub and retest. Many run-out issues can be fixed by unstacking imperfections. Once you find the position that has < 0.002" run-out, mark the rotor and lug so you know the proper orientation. Then install the wheel. 3) When torquing down the rim, DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH! This is probably my biggest mistake. Use a torque wrench set to the OEM torque spec (97 FT/lB for Tundra aluminum wheels, BTW) and tighten in a star pattern (skip every other lug). If you over torque, apply uneven torque, or torque in a circular pattern, it will tension the rotor like a spring. When the rotor heats up, it will deflect where the biggest differential in torque exists - causing the rubbing of the pads, the ultimately pulsation. When it cools down, the rotor returns to its normal shape. You can get a run-out meter on Amazon for <$50. And a Torque wrench at Harbor Fr.eight for about $20. It take a bit longer to do these steps, but after doing all of them, I've now gone over 5K miles, and it's a smooth as new, going down steep hills at highway speeds, with a trailer. Knock-on-wood, but I hope this is the last set I buy in a long time... FWIW, I would post the raybestos technical write up, but AMZ doesn't like including external links. ... show more

  • These work..!
2014 Toyota Tundra - I've looked on forums/websites and they suggested sets that were double the cost for a set, I saw these and they looked exactly the same, so I took a chance on them. I've got about 1,000 miles on them and they are performing quite well. Will update further if required.

  • Best bang for your buck!
So, I can just say this; go on down to brake check and compare the price and quality. You can’t, don’t waste the time and fuel! This is the last stop (so to speak) towards an overall, vastly superior step up from stock, and at a fraction of the cost. Why would anyone needing new rotors go stock? This kit will not only have everything you need, it’s made in America, by Americans! Seriously, these rotors, coupled with the ceramic pads, add approximately 30% better stopping power over stock. In addition, they haven’t shown any signs of fade like the stock set up. This is due to the drilled and slotting of the rotor. It exhausts the gasses and heat that builds up and causes fading. Buy this set, YouTube on how to do the brake job (vehicle specific) and enjoy the confidence in knowing, when you have to stop, you can! The only negative, I only purchased the front. I can only imagine how much of an overall improvement would’ve been. Will be doing the rear brakes next. ... show more

  • Great for Tundras!!
2010 Tundra they fit and perform perfect. Dec 2019. Ensure you wire brush the hub to remove rust and gunk for a perfectly level mounting surface. Strict adherence to Star pattern when torquing the lugs For a perfectly level mount. Roughly 1000miles on them... no warping or any issues yet. I’m very happy with them. ... show more

  • Great upgrade to OEM and cheap
Clean behind your rotors.. that’s all I can say before you install. These are awesome upgrade and brake and pad replacement for my 2016 Toyota Tundra Sr5. My previous rotors and pads have always been OEM. With these tundras there is a huge flaw in the brakes. If you don’t clean or smooth surface behind the rotor on the lug plate your rotors will warp! I’ve replaced rotors 3 times with this truCk and all because of this issue. I am hoping these rotors will be great now that I actually took the time to clean and scrap behind the rotors. The hardiest part of the install is pushing the caliber pistons back in. Using a clamp worked but took the most time. This kit is awesome it comes with all the correct hardware. And I was surprised it came with brake cleaner and fluid. Hopefully they work out great and I like the cross drilled rotor look, minus my chipped wheel smh.. I originally took my truck to get the brakes done and got quotes from the dealer and another well known shop. Both wanted $500-600. It didn’t seem logical at these times with money so I was very happy with this purchase. Also it came 2 days earlier so that was great.. ... show more

  • Satisfied
I was sent 2 different rotors but I'm still giving 5 stars because I have never had an issue with anything I bought from Detroit Axle before. They quickly replaced the rotors without hassle. They are good quality, as is anything I have purchased from them.

  • Fantastic Drilled/ Slotted Rotors / Pads
Nicest rotors I've ever bought. Had slight squeak on factory I could never get rid of. These rotors/ pads are silent. Improved breaking. Installed on a 2010 Tundra.
