For some reason, my brake rotors only last about 20,000 miles. It's not because I brake aggressively—I mostly do normal around-town driving. After going through a couple of well-known brands, I decided to give Detroit Axle a try. The price was very reasonable for the rotor and pad kit. It even included brake fluid and brake cleaner, which was a nice bonus. The installation went fairly smoothly, aside from a few typical DIY hiccups. They did fit well. I've been driving with the new brakes for a few days now, and so far, so good. The vibrations are gone, and the braking performance feels solid (although I don't drive brake hard). I'm hoping this set lasts much longer than the previous ones.

Somehow the squealer indicator on my left rear inside brake snapped off and I got a lot of wear on that rotor before I got to the brakes. Having my tires rotated and balanced at a big wholesaler didn't help either as they won't check your brakes when the tires are off or even let you in the garage to look at them yourself. But with this kit from Detroit Axle, it isn't really worth the cost and trouble to have the rotors turned anyway! Everything fit great. The pads have tabs so they can only go in one way (with the squealers on the leading edge) and they are metal-free ceramic so no copper. The rotors are nicely machined and balanced, look just like the OEM, and fit perfectly. Some installation notes: My van is at 120K miles and this was the first brake job it needed, and it was pretty straightforward. There were 3 clips on the lugs to hold the rotor in place while mounting the tire. It was hard getting the old ones off - I had to pry them until flat, turn with a pliers a couple turns, and finally unscrew them with gloves. That way I could reuse them, but they aren't essential anyway so you could just cut them off. The old rotors came off pretty easily and even the better one was pretty rusted up. Having them turned would probably cost almost as much as these new ones, esp as they are drum/rotor combinations (though you could probably get away with just turning the rotor parts). But due to the left one getting really worn it's probably best I just replaced everything, and I took the old rotors to the metal recycling place near my house. I even got about $1 for each of them. Brake grease for the pad backs and tracks was included and the brakes are perfectly quiet. One container each of DOT3 fluid and brake cleaner are included. I didn't bleed mine yet as I'd probably need at least one more container of fluid but I plan to do that soon. The brake cleaner is the flammable type and worked great to get the calipers clean before putting in the new pads. If you've never done this type of job before, a few more tips: Secure the car wheels carefully (ideally with wheel chocks) as you can't get the rotors off with the emergency brake engaged. Wire brush any rough rust on the wheel hub and around the lugs to make sure the new rotors fit on nicely. Open the brake fluid reservoir before pushing the caliper pistons all the way in (you need a special tool - and make sure you don't overflow the reservoir). Check the caliper pins to be sure they move smoothly - if not you'll need to clean and relube or replace the pins. Look for boot damage. It's a good time to also bleed your brake lines and check the parking brake adjustment esp, if it hasn't been holding perfectly well. Torque the wheels right after the brake job and at least one more time after driving for a short while. My Express is at 140 ft-lbs. I'm very happy with this brake kit, especially at such an amazing value.

Just changed them. And is working great. However its less than 100 miles. So I will have to update this after a few thousand. I will say they included everything it said. Rotors brake pads the clips cleaner brake fluid and grease for a very good price! I will update this after a few thousand miles to let you know. If I don't well perhaps they failed and I can't. ... Or maybe I forgot.. Lol Super happy with the product.

I bought the Detroit Axle front brake kit for my RWD Lexus (IS350), and overall, I’m pretty happy with it—especially for the price. The kit came with rotors, ceramic brake pads, and hardware, all packaged well and ready to install. Everything fit perfectly without any issues, which was a huge plus since I did the installation myself in my garage. Performance-wise, the braking is smooth and responsive. I noticed an immediate improvement over my worn OEM parts. The slotted and drilled rotors also help keep things cooler during longer drives, and there’s noticeably less brake dust. That said, the pads do feel like they might wear down a bit faster than premium brands. I’ve only had them on for a few months, so time will tell. But for the price I paid, it's hard to complain. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly upgrade that performs well and fits right out of the box, this kit is worth considering.

Very satisfied, works like a charm. Of course I completely clean the grooves with a brush on a grinder and a big file were the stainless steel clips fit so the pads have plenty of room in between the clips to work. That's the reason I'm having to do a brake job is because the dealership failed to properly clean the grooves and one of my pads got stuck and completely ruined the pads and rotor on the drivers side. You want something done right you got to do it yourself.

Fantastic kit, it included everything needed to perform the brake job. Quality brake pads and rotors and an exact match for my 2004 Toyota Avalon. The parts came individually packaged and even included brakes parts cleaner and a container or brake fluid. Once installed the were easy to bed (break in) and they felt like original brakes and the stopping power was perfect.
