As a retired mechanic I have tried dozens of brake brands and I must say these brakes offer amazing bang for the buck. After bedding in the brake pads and rotors these offer superior performance over stock brakes and are even far superior to some higher store name brands from local auto parts stores. I have used this product in several of my vehicles for probably the last five years. I’ve noticed on here that some people give Detroit axle a bad name just because the packaging is broken or tore or ripped. Every time I’ve received my packaging from them. It’s always been in a good shape. Never had an issue with it. The product has always fit and then right on and if I’ve ever had to call customer support, they’ve always been there to answer the call and take care of whatever it is they may need. Receive the product in good shape on opening the product. Everything was boxed perfectly wrappers over everything like they should be. Nothing was loose in the box. The overall quality and value for money of the Detroit Axle front brake kit is good, however when I was replacing the ‘tins’ or pad slide clips on the 2nd caliper, it was missing the correct tin to fit it! As it turns out the packaging included an odd numbered set of tin’s, meaning I had one tin where the outside holding clip was on the inside (and would interfere with the rotor), so I had to bend and cut the tin to fit in the heat of the moment so I could get the car back on the road. Detroit Axle might want to review there QC (Quality Control) or include spare tins to avoid this from happening with other customers. Side note: this photo is NOT the tin I had to modify, but is to show how the correct spring clip is meant to fit on the outside of the caliper rail. ... show more
