I bought these Brake shoes from Detroit Axle for my 1999 Ranger and they looked ok. I installed them with new drums I purchased locally from O'Reilly. Less than 3 months later the driver side rear started making weird noise. So I removed the wheel and drum to find the front shoe had a weird rippled texture across the shoe material. definitely looks like a manufacturing defect in the compound. So I sent a message to the Detroit Axle with pictures asking that they can do to correct this and they replied "I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. For warranty coverage on the brake shoes, our policy requires that both the shoes and the drums be purchased from our store and installed together. Regards, Hannah..." So basically saying yes we sold you defective shoes, but since we didn't also sell you drums we are not going to stand behind our product. I understand even the best company can ship a defective product that they didn't know about, but it's how a company stands behind their product when you have an issue that tells you what kind of a company they are. I tried to give them a chance to do the right thing, send me a new set of shoes, or just refund the price I paid for these so I can run to the local parts store for new shoes. I am the one that now has to do the whole job all over again because of their bad product, the least they can do is not make it cost double. UPDATE: after talking to their customer service that nowhere in their ad does it say they must buy their Drums to have a warranty, their reply was: Hi again, Please note that the brake shoes you ordered are not covered by any kind of warranty, and the product listing does not indicate that a warranty is included. I sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused. We truly regret the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Regards Hannah...

The brake drums worked , but everything was tight the star adjuster was screwed completely down and the hub fit barely on , but they worked, what could be different is Amazon or the brake company could make sure the customer knows that there are different sizes that fit on the same model of a ranger , i did not know they made different sizes that’s why I had to reorder, I am sure they pointed it out in the spec , it was a certain size , but they failed to make me understand, I could have a different size for the ranger pickup! Now I know!
