  • Pads DO create dust; probably not the best quality
Size: BK91004106/KIT
My first "total" brake job. The rotors look fantastic, and the hardware was complete. For some reason they packaged the rear pads with the front rotors and vice-versa. But both boxes arrived at the same time, so head scratching was minimal. I have a 2008 F150 SuperCrew, and I learned lessons the hard way about the parking brakes before this installation. If your parking brakes are seized on the rears (combination disc/drum), and if you live in a northern state this is probably the case, you'll need to do a bit of research to get your rear rotors removed. I would also suggest replacing the parking brake assemblies, or, on a truck this aged, if you prefer just remove the guts completely (if you live in flat lands) and your vehicle does not require this function to pass an inspection. I can't remember the last time I needed to use the parking brake, and it will give you problems if you decide to use it all of a sudden after a decade or so after no use. I opted to replace my guts and left them loose for final adjustment later. Removing calipers showed that one of my fronts was leaking, which is another extensive research avenue for those that have this issue. I needed to replace both front calipers, so my efforts were quadrupled. Notice I didn't say "Doubled". It's a pain, but bleeding is not so bad if you have a partner to push the pedal. Beware the Banjo bolt washers, and clean up well if you need to work with brake fluid (highly corrosive, wear latex gloves). So I cleaned up with files and sandpaper, every component surface on caliper mounts, then applied high-quality brake lube to the following: the surfaces under all clips, faces of caliper pistons, slide pins, slide pin dust boot seats, surfaces on tops of clips, and ensured that pads were lubed where necessary on backsides away from contact surfaces. I also applied Anti-seize to the face and around the hub where the rotor hat sits. If you always service these wheels, anti-seize the lug studs; what the hell. Make sure to buy at least 4 large cans of brake cleaner to clean up rotor surfaces; you will need it! One other trick I learned after losing 2 FRONT brake pad springs (when they fly, they fly; they will take off out of the holes as manufactured): if you clamp the end of the spring with a pair of vise grips at the corner where it eventually mounts in the holes of the brake pads, then use a set of needle-nose to slightly bend the tips away from center (say 10 degrees), THEN install them in the holes, they will not fly away when you are trying to re-install the calipers. Hope this helps some. Get a torque wrench for this job! At least up to 150 ft*lbs. I used anti-seize on the caliper mounting bolts (all Four wheels), and they should be torqued to 148 ft*lbs. If you don't need to remove the mounting bolts, just ensure that they are tightened properly. I used BLUE LOC-TITE (or similar) for caliper mounting bolts. Fronts on this truck should be 47 ft*lbs. Rears should be around 24 ft*lbs. (smaller). After the job was completed, I took time and "broke in" the brake pads and rotors. Do your research, because this worked well for me. Most people don't have an abandoned road near them to accomplish this. Stopping power has increased for me, and it seems to be a very smooth operation, with no noise. Which is GREAT! However...I am also seeing quite a bit of brake dust externally on my rims, which leads me to question the quality of these particular pads. I am considering different brake pads after one years' use, and although this was a great deal, I'm thinking that these pads are of a very low quality. Which is no surprise, given their cost. Since these items have been installed only recently, I will hold judgment and update later, understanding that I may be adjusting my stars after some time. I hope this helps some. Hey, it's a great deal for those like me on a limited budget. Just beware. Cheers! Edit 10/22/24: So, the brake dust was only temporary. I braked as necessary according to recommendations. Yes, there was brake dust thrown on the front rims initially. After properly exercising these brakes, including discs and pads, I have no problem with them whatsoever. FIVE stars. For those of you crying about brake dust, you probably did not exercise properly. I did not have this issue after initial testing. OF COURSE you will have initial brake dust. But if you know how to exercise brake pads after installation, you should no longer have this issue. Hey, look it up, is all I'm saying. These pads and discs are very good... so far. This being said, I understand where there may be confusion. When you install ANY new pads, you need to burn them in, I don't care what anyone says. Watch and learn the videos on how to do this, and they will last you another 30,000+. Don't just take my word for it. Whatever new pads you have, you need to road test with hard stops to get the coating from pads to rotors, before every day drive. Don't complain when they fail early, because you did not use due diligence. ... show more

Nice fit on a Murano 2009 s AWD installation went smooth once I got the old ones out (I live in the rust belt so it was a battle original ones too had to bring out the BFH lol) they look very nice love the finish forgot what they call it but they look good , quality seem pretty decent, and so far they have been working very good some noise during the first days after installation but it eventually went away they look new after two months of salt and snow ,we'll see how they endure the rest of winter see how durable they are will update in a few months ... show more

  • Poor quality

After 5 years and 32k miles the front rotors are completely grooved and worn out. I don’t recommend buying them.

  • Works better than OE but check the contents against the description
Ordered 2 sets at the same time. Both exactly the same packaging and part number. One was packed well the other was not, and had spilled its contents One was exactly as described. The other was correct fit etc but was not drilled and vented as described, but time crunch meant I didn’t have time to send back and complain. I’d still buy again as is way better than the original equipment ... show more

  • Good quality parts.

The parts and quality are very good. Just know this seller uses FedEx so your package may be delayed getting to you. As a customer I would be willing to pay more to use the shipping company of my choice.
