NO PARABENS - NO PARAFFIN - NO PETROLATUM - NO MINERAL OIL How-To-Use In 3 Easy Steps: Step 1: Apply to hair in sections smoothing from root to ends. Step 2: Comb, twist or finger style as desired. i like the scent; it’s very faint and dissipates once you untwist your hair, but it doesn’t provide a lot of hold, which i need. i’d definitely pair this with an additional gel to give it that extra umph if that’s what you desire.

I like the way this product gives moisture to the hair and adds defined curls as well. It is not going to allow your hair to be soft if you don't add a leave-in conditioner to your hair as well as a little oil before adding the product. It smells great, my husband made a comment on that...so thumbs up on that. I love Design essential products prior to using this for the first time. My shampoo and conditioner I used was Design Essentials brand which may have helped in this products success. Oh and my hair texture is a mix of 3B and 3C. ... show more

this defined my curls better then anything ive ever used but it left white gunk that was so hard to get out. it took me five washes to get this fully out of my hair. it’s tragic, it defines so well but the white residue it leaves makes it unusable for me. i have fine high porosity 4b hair.

I have 2c/3a curls (used to be 3a/3b before I got pregnant, now postpartum they have stretched out some) and this is the BEST curly gel/custard/hold product I have ever used in the past 3 years of my curly hair journey. It doesn’t make my hair sticky, it gives nice hold and shine and it’s super easy to scrunch out the crunch. I have used this as a one and done wash and go product (I also air dry overnight and do not diffuse) and I have gotten consistent results every time. My hair lasts about 4 days with minimal refreshing which is really good for me. I absolutely recommend! After I wash and deep condition (once a week), I apply a leave in conditioner, plop in a microfiber towel for about an hour (I have low porosity hair so my hair takes a long time to dry...I style with my hair damp not dripping), section my hair in half (top to bottom, then split the bottom into 2 equal sections) comb through any tangles then apply about a quarter to dollar coin size amount of product to each section using raking and praying hands. The top half of my hair I section into 4s and apply the same amount. I sleep with my hair plopped in a T-shirt and wake up with zero frizz. Hope that helps! ... show more
