Works great and the photos come out very clear. It is easy to use. I bought it to scope inside of the walls of my condo to see if there is mold in them. Sure enough I found a ton of mold in the walls where I suspect the gutters are leaking into them. I needed proof to send to my condo HOA that there's mold inside the walls that they need to address along with the water intrusion (so far they refuse - don't ever buy a condo.) The camera has several lens so you can switch between them to get different views into whatever you are scoping it into. I'm a novice with this and found it very easy to use.

Very useful tool for auto, motorcycle and small engine work. Very easy to use, gives a good picture of the inside of any cylinder. Takes a little patience to keep it still and to scan the entire cylinder, but with a bit of practice and a steady hand, this is an excellent diagnostic device. The menus are simple, good battery life and inexpensive.

Edit: after posting this, depstech reached out and offered a replacement at no charge, so I am happy with their customer service. I have used this on and off for 6 months as an electrician, sticking it in holes in the wall and using it to help fish items. The camera is very nifty, and the price point is good for all you get. Far cheaper than brand name contractor stuff. The camera/screen is plenty good enough for what I do. The light on the end will light up 1-2ft of space in front of the camera, usually sufficient. The cord is a bit flimsy though. On that note, I had a premature failure of the light, it seems the wires pulled apart from the end bit while flexing the cord. So the camera still works, but now it has no light. Depstech has sent me a new unit, hopefully that holds up better.

Overall a very good scope if you understand its limitations. Picture is very clear within its optimum focal range of 5cm to 10cm. Gets fuzzy very fast when moving in closer than 5cm. Clarity beyond 10cm is acceptable to about twice that distance. The hook accessory works very well but the 90-degree mirror and magnet accessories leave a lot to be desired. The mirror provides a very small field of view and creates a distracting lens flare around the edges with the light on. If you need a side view one of the larger two-camera scopes from this company would be a better choice. I bought the scope primarily for looking inside walls for electrical and plumbing problems, so the smaller size and greater focal distance of the single camera model works better for me. The magnet accessory works great as long as the light is turned off. But most of the time you are going to need the light to see where you dropped something. However, with the light on, the glare from the back of the magnet causes the area around the magnet to go dark. It remains to be seen if painting the back of the magnet black will fix this problem. Even with some limitations, the Depstech 5.5mm endoscope is a better value than many other scopes costing much more. And since most other scopes in this class are 8mm or larger, this scope will go places where others won’t.

Initially kind of expensive but well worth it. I've used it for all sorts of things...looking under shed at bunnies, looking under the deck for bunnies (we have a bunny problem), looking down a drain for ring, looking down a floor vent to see if there was a blockage, under the very large/heavy sectional sofa for jewelry. The wire is flexible but semi rigid...it will hold. It's not flimsy like a string. Think....sturdy pipe cleaner (if you know what those are). It's great in hard to reach/see places. Charges fairly quick. Can take still photos and videos. Definitely a must have if you are a homeowner.

I got tired of using a flash light to look into engine cavities so I got this. It works quiet well for the most part. The worst part is maneuvering the very stiff cable. I guess since it's primary advertisement is for drain pipes as in plumbing the stiffness is needed. If you're trying to check small engine cavities it's hard to move around but you can at least see more than you usually can with a flash light. I know the company has various cables but, a detachable setup with both stiff and flexible cords included would sure help. (Dream on...) The other drawback is focus. It's move it around, back and forth to get a good picture but 'close-ups' are nearly impossible. Changing the lens from full - left - right helps but not much. I tried looking at the cam, timing, oil pump setup inside a 16.5 HP B&S engine. I finally got a good shot of the shaft & timing gears while checking for possible damage but it took a while for me to get it bent around enough to see anything. (Won't go into why. But, all looked good.) I've used it for cavities on floor jacks but again, a manual focus would have helped. Maybe the higher priced models has all these features. If you're a pro, go better. I'll just make it work for my needs. Update 06 Sep 25. I purchased this Dec 23. I've used it to check my personal small lawn equipment about 15 times. It's still 'new'! Now, the battery won't stay charged longer than 10 mins while initially It would last almost all day. All batteries have a life span but this unit sure didn't achieve any normal life span for rechargeables. I haven't check if I can replace the batteries. I'm adding this as another "Dislike" for this tool.

Even little airplanes cost a lot these days, especially their engines. I wanted to sell my Cessna to an old friend, but because it had been sitting idle for 15 years, I was concerned about hidden rust in the engine that would be very expensive to fix. If the camshaft was rusty, it would require a $40,000 overhaul. All the mechanics sadly shook their heads and said, "Yup; you will undoubtedly need an overhaul." Unfortunately, there's no inexpensive way to inspect the camshaft, EXCEPT with a borescope with a tiny head, like this one. By draining the oil and snaking this scope up past induction pipes and through a very small oil drain slot, then up past the crank and connecting rods, I was able to see and photograph enough of the camshaft to discover that it was actually in very good shape. So, after the FAA-certified mechanic carefully inspected everything else, we started it up and it ran perfectly. It took off from my little grass strip with a mighty roar, climbed like a homesick angel, and flew off to its next adventure in life with my friend. We are delighted with the results of this borescope!

I wanted a borescope for some limited applications, including trying to scope out my air vents to see if I could run an ethernet line through them. The picture quality is really nice, and the option of being able to record the video is really nice. The reason I gave it four stars, though, is that the cable tends to want to bunch up on itself, and so it won't extend all the way down the vent as I was hoping. Maybe if I spent more time unraveling it before use it would be a bit more sturdy, but perhaps I'm just impatient. Still, it works for my needs, but it takes a bit of time to get the cable to be stiff enough to go all the way down it. If it was slightly more sturdy, I'd give it five stars for sure.
