I'm an automotive technician so I use this camera to look inside spark plug holes or deep inside engine crevasses or dashes to inspect things with out tearing it apart. My biggest complaint is the screen. It's a very old school lcd screen that must be viewed straight on to be able to see the image clearly. If your off to the side the image looks very funny. The lack of a zoom or focus ability makes it hard to see anything past a few inches. No real case. Camera came in cardboard box and offers no real protection in my tool box. And lastly the cable is far too long for my application but I won't knock the company for that. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Used this for the first time on my car engine 11-20-23. For the price point this thing is spot on. With the options to take photos, videos, split screen, and side camera is amazing. The 1080p on the big screen is clear and you are able see the little details. This is now my second Depstech camera. I first purchased a different model and it didn’t suit my needs. I ended up returning it and thought that was that. Little to my surprise Depstech actually reached out to me and wanted a happy customer. After chatting back and fourth the sales rep recommended a camera that would better meet my needs. Seeing I was totally shocked that a company cared about there customers I agreed to try a newer model. HUGE IMPROVEMENT. First off the new model came in a case to carry the camera and keep it protected. Another new improvement is the cable is detachable. This is a much added bonus that makes storing the camera easier, and in the future they will offer different cable lengths for those projects that may need a longer cable, or a shorter cable. Lastly the picture quality is a significant improvement. Way better then the previous camera. This are a helpful tool in the tool box. You can read product codes on parts you need to order with out having to take something apart just to read a cereal number, then have parts all on the bench till it arrives. You can find leaks that you ordinarily won’t find till removing a bunch of things, and lastly look into plumbing that you would never be able to see. Depstech I feel is a great company that cares about the customer, and sells quality items at the price point. Hope this helps your decision. ... show more

    • An excellent endoscope

After purchasing a DEPSTECH WF020X-10M in January 2021, I was invited to try the DS300 which has so far improved on many weaknesses of the earlier model. The DS300 lens provides a wider viewing angle and a seemingly longer viewing distance that does not require what you're looking at be just inches in front of the lens. The light is certainly brighter than the existing model which improves the image quality. A built-in screen and control panel is a plus over the app used by the earlier model--although the app typically cooperated, it is more convenient having all functionality isolated to one device and circumvents the shortcomings of my (rather dated) smartphone. Those considering an endoscopic camera should be aware of a few limitations common to this type of tool--namely the difficulty in positioning the lens to look at what you're trying to see. Do not assume that just because your objective is within the generous 16.5' length that you'll have no trouble seeing it, especially if that involves making multiple turns. The wire is fairly stiff and will generally hold the angle you set the camera at initially but may buckle if you're applying force to get it through a 90 degree turn. These are not weaknesses specific to this brand or model but rather to all endoscopes; I can't imagine how a manufacturer could make getting the lens positioned any easier shy of some likely expensive guided propulsion technology that brings you into a whole different product segment. My advice when deciding if an endoscope is the right tool or not would be to consider your use case, the camera's entrance point, and that entrance's position relative to what you're trying to look at. If you could conceivably push a long, coat hangar-like wire to your objective, this is the right type of tool, and among endoscopes the DS300 is an excellent option. Otherwise, you may find yourself cutting drywall or hiring someone with a more advanced guided camera. ... show more
