After trying several headlight cleaning kits, it became obvious that the headlights on my Subaru were going to need replacing. The discoloration was actually on the inside of the lens, and there was no obvious way to clean the haze from the plastic. === The Good Stuff === *These were a perfect fit for my 2007 Outback. Looking at them, you would never know they were not the original, although there were some slight differences when you put the old and new parts side-by-side. None of them seemed significant. * Unlike the original headlights, these have been through a couple rainy months without moisture getting to the bulb and blowing them out. * The lights are about as bright as I remember the originals, and have the same "directionalism" as the originals. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * Installing these was a bit of a pain. Unlike my Jeep, these must be removed from the rear. They seem like they should slide out toward the front, but they do not. * The install is nothing beyond the average shade-tree mechanic, but because of the way my Outback was built, you will end up removing the battery, bumper cover, wheel-well inserts, brackets and about 30 of those silly plastic rivets that automakers insist on using. If you are like me, you will break one or two of them, and spend a couple hours tracking the exact right ones down at local autoparts stores. * The new lights are slightly out of alignment- one beam is slightly above another. I didn't see any obvious way of adjusting these, and it wasn't enough of an issue to bother with. === Summary === Until you replace them, you probably do not realize just how much light your old covers are blocking. Plus, it makes a 10 year-old vehicle look surprisingly 'newer". Total project, including figuring out how to get the old lights out, took about 2 hours. Well worth it. ... show more

    • have to remove bumper to install - order two and do them both at same time!

worked as advertised and fit as needed. to install, the bumper has to be removed, so i had my mechanic do it. I ordered one because I thought I could easily swap out the damage one. If I had known I needed to take it to my mechanic, I would have ordered two. So, unless you can remove your bumper, order two and have your professional do them both at the same time. ... show more
