I purchased a mini pottery wheel for my 12 year old son for Christmas. I was on the lookout for some clay to go with it and this was a good price--a lot cheaper than the lighter colored clay. It is good quality clay and works very well. Maybe the one down side is that it looks messier because of the dark color, and I'm not sure if it will be harder to get stains out, but really any clay is messy and you probably should use aprons and tools that are fine to be stained so I recommend this, especially for the better price. ... show more

I just received my order a couple of days ago and I knew right away I was going to have trouble with it. It arrived far too dry. It is not as malleable as it shoukd be and even after some far too difficult wedging, I took it to the wheel. It was just too firm to work with. I will have to try to salvage it and for the price I didn't expect to have to do the additional work to make it wheel ready. Not happy with the quality for the price. I purchased this clay while waiting for clay I dug (very plastic) in my yard to dry enough for use. However this clay is not real malleable and cracks easily while working to bend shapes for handbuilding figures and jewelry.
