Really hard to put together while pregnant and needed to get help from my partner despite wanting to do the nursery area myself. Once together it’s extremely sturdy and has a beautiful finish. Everything is a very good height for rather short persons (like myself being only 5’3).

Before we got this we were changing our baby on our bed (king size pretty tall) but still would get terrible back pains for constant bending over. This was a great investment and doesn’t take up too much space. I appreciate the storage space, I keep his diaper changing supplies, extra onesies, and my pumping supplies all within reach. Let me start by saying I put this together myself, I'm almost 9 months pregnant. It was easy to put together. In the instructions it says you need needle nose pliers but I don't see why. Never needed them, everything is put together with an allen wrench which is provided. It's very solid. Doesn't wiggle around, but light enough you can move it by yourself for positioning purposes. The changing pad it comes with isn't super thick, however that doesn't mean it's thin. It's made so the rails are much higher than the pad. It's actually surprisingly plush and I would use it if I didn't already have a curved one. I loved the curved changing pad from my 1st so I'm going to use it again. I'll probably use the pad it came with for downstairs in my home as a 2nd area for changes. TLDR: quality item at a good price. Can't go wrong with it. ... show more

I gave this changing table as a gift from the new mom's gift registry. (Her mom is my friend) I saw the mom when the baby was 8 months old and she and her husband raved at how much they liked the changing table. I had even forgotten that I gifted her the table. The changing table had a strong chemical smell. Considering it is a baby product would be nice to use a low VOC paint. Luckily I bought it early and still have time for it to air out. The construction is pretty decent. The construction instructions they kind of throw at you all in the first step. But it’s an easy build if you built this type of furniture before. I kind of wish there were caps to hide the bolts. And there were two barrel nuts in the back that stick out. ... show more

It was fairly easy to build myself at 6 months pregnant, but if I was farther along I think I would have asked my husband to help or to just build it for me- pretty easy and the directions are well laid out, but not sure how easy if would have been with more of a stomach than I already have. It looks very nice! There were no scratches or marks on it when I got it, but the finish does seem easy to damage so just be careful when you're building it. Now that its built, it seems perfectly sturdy for its purpose. I'm very happy with it! The only down side is that the height of the shelves don't accommodate a box of store bought diapers on the bottom (the box is too tall) unless the box is on its side. Its not too big of a deal though; I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants a black changing table without spending huge amounts of money. ... show more
