First off, I'm assuming that all the bad reviews are from people who either cannot follow directions, or choose not to, because this thing went together EXACTLY as described. It is quite a bit to put together (it took me about 4 hours by myself, but I'm an older woman with really painful hands). It came VERY well packed. Actually, it's an engineering marvel how they got everything packed into the box like they did & still had it so well protected! The instructions are very detailed and clearly written with words & pictures. The dresser is really sturdy & of good quality. It does take some getting used to that I can only open one drawer at a time, but I understand that it's a safety feature. The only negative comment I have is that I wish there was a matching nightstand to go with it! I am very pleased with this dresser. This is probably the best large item I've ever bought from Amazon. Beautiful dresser! Very sturdy and good quality. There’s definitely plenty of space for baby clothes! Gets a 4-star because of the lengthy assembly process. Took us a few hours to assemble due to confusing instructions. However, it has a built-in interlocking system that only lets you open one drawer at the time. This is a safety feature, but causes a semi-loud noise when opening/closing the drawers. ... show more

SAFETY ALERT: Drawer stops failed on nursery unit

I am writing this to warn other parents of a major safety defect with the Storkcraft Brookside 4-Drawer Dresser. I purchased two of these units—one for each of my daughters. While one has been functional, the second unit suffered a catastrophic failure of the drawer stops. My preschool-aged daughter was opening a drawer to put away clothes when the safety stops failed completely. The drawer came entirely out of the frame with clothes in it and fell on her. I was lucky to be right there to catch the edge of the drawer, so her foot was only bruised rather than smashed. The drawer broke during the fall, and I chose not to put it back in. I ended up ditching the entire unit because I could no longer trust the hardware. I was shocked to see that Amazon’s AI (Rufus) was still recommending this unit for children’s bedrooms in 2026 despite these safety concerns. Critical points for buyers: Inconsistent Quality: Since I own two, I can confirm the hardware is hit-or-miss. One unit’s stops hold, while the other's failed without warning. Nursery Marketing: This is marketed for kids' rooms, but the "Euro-glide" tracks and plastic safety stops are not durable enough to prevent a heavy drawer from falling out if a child pulls it. AI Recommendation Issues: Even after reporting this incident, the automated recommendations still label this as a "durable" option. Do not trust the AI for safety-critical furniture. If you have this dresser, please test your drawer stops immediately by firmly pulling them to the limit. If there is any "give," the unit is unsafe. I strongly recommend choosing a dresser with metal-to-metal safety catches or a different brand entirely. ... show more

I personally did not like the style of instruction that they used. They had you do all the hardware of one type at the same time, leading to a lot of moving around pieces when it could’ve more easily been done section by section. There are two large hardware pieces that show on the diaper changing topper, which are not shown in the advertisement image. It’s definitely built correctly, as the instructions do include the two bolts showing in the final product. Also, the warning stickers are incredible difficult to get off.
