I had a problem with this unit not turning off automatically (not sure why) resulting it running continuously unless manually switched off. The result was a shocking electric bill. When I contacted Amazon within the 90-day window to process a return, they informed me that because it came from a third-party seller (Woot), only Woot's 30-day return policy would be honored. Product came and stopped working within a few days due to “PF” power failure. Super rusted on the inside, old & used unit— not just refurbished!! Seller was quick to respond & offered return. Outside looked great. Inside looked awful.

    • I want to like this machine...

I bought this machine refurbished in the fall when no a/c was needed or heat. Now that it's cold, I am using the heating feature. The noise level is excellent! The previous machine I was using was much louder so I truly appreciate that. What I don't appreciate is how quickly the water reservoir fills up in the heater mode. Every hour or so, the machine turns off, displaying the HL sign which requires the tank to be emptied. While this is frustrating in itself to do every hour or two, what's even more annoying is that the drain is located at the very bottom of the machine. The only container I have found that works to drain the water into is a cookie sheet with side walls. Once drained from the machine into the cookie sheet, I have to somehow transfer the water to my sink or a bucket close by. 95% of the time, I spill the water making a mess and creating the task even more tedious. Long story short, if I knew about this, I would not have purchased this machine, it's that frustrating. I really hope the AC feature is less frustrating. I love the winter but I am honestly ready for it to change seasons already. ... show more

Great buy, I bought this refurbished to cool my garage. Best product for the price I paid I am very happy. I like like silent feature which let's me focus on my task. It's probably the best compact ac that I ever bought.

I've been very happy with the unit. It has worked good for our garage which is 400 sqft. I don't think the unit would big enough for a larger space unless it was well insulated. It's pretty much running full blast all the time to keep up with my 400 sqft, but the garage is a space that isn't as well insulated as an indoor area and some air escapes around the garage door. That said it is able to keep the garage a comfortable temperature even when it's really hot outside. ... show more

    • Beware of Heating in the Winter.

It is currently -3 degrees outside and I've just found out that to use the heat function on this product, you still need to have it connected to the window! Having the window guards up and this hose connected to it is redundant for heating the room! I have to have winterization plastic over my windows or we freeze inside our poorly insulated apartment building. The ac/heater doesn't just heat or cool, it does both at the same time. When you use the ac function, the heat blows out the window. When you use the heat function, the ac blows out the window. For the cost of this product and the price of the increase in electric bill, it is not worth the price of the unit. It would be better to buy a smaller room heater and a separate ac unit rather than this 2 in 1 unit. Don't waste your money. ... show more
