What a fun project challenge that I am glad I undertook. ***This is not an installation for those who are not mechanically inclined*** However, I have done major renovations on several of my residences over the years and had the cahones to take the leap into what I previously considered to be a magical realm. You will need a vaccum pump, R410A adapter, pressure gauge rig (comes with pump), and I really advise a torque wrench with adjustable wrench head (unless you're sure you have the flare nut sockets needed for the lineset diameters of your system). Overall, ~$170 for these if you don't have them already (pricing as of ~Dec'24) I also got Nylog Blue... not sure if I needed it, but it didn't hurt. I did a relatively unconventional installation in that I routed a 25' lineset from the left side of the unit, flush with the wall. My condensate line was also run on a slightly sloped horizontal run indoors, then diverted outside. (I installed this in a finished portion of the basement that allowed me to run the lines through a wall and along an unfinished interior wall of an adjacent area). Caution: if you are using a wall-mount bracket for the outside unit, know that, even with thick rubber vibration damping feet, the compressore section will telegraph a low intensity hum/vibration through the wall studs to the interior space. this is interesting, since there is extremely quiet operation of the unit outdoors otherwise. in my case, the hum was in the unfinished space, thus not relevant. if you will install against a wall in a finished space, I recommend a ground slab mount (on a raised mount if you're in snowfall country). I haven't gotten the app/wifi function running yet, but the hand remote is great. The unit takes a minute or two to fire up and equilibrate, so don't expect it to turn on a dime when you switch modes or temperatures. but, it runs essentially as quietly as the Mitsusbishi units that I had professionally installed at one of my former homes. Wishes: there does not appear to be a setting in which the fan periodically circulates air to mix the air in the room and keep it uniformly conditioned. Since I have high ceilings, and I needed to mount this at about 8 feet up, the air is stratified and is at a different temperature up higher than the rest of the room at 'living' levels (~3-6 feet up). There is a fan-only setting, but this is not in heat or cool mode. I found customer support through the chat remarkably responsive and effective. There is no other way to get in touch with the company. But, rest assured, THEY ARE THERE and respond within a minute or two. All questions were answered quickly and effectively. Where I found an error in the manual that led me to order the wrong diameter lineset, they quickly refunded me so I could buy the right one. (on this note, it would be more convenient and less wasteful to allow the customer to pick the right lineset length when ordering. in the end, I was left with the original 16 foot lineset that came with the unit. (note: the unit comes pre-charged wth enough refrigerant for a 25 foot lineset!) I should also note that there was a small dent in the outdoor unit base due to shipping damage. Look like a forklift might have pierced the box. It was cosmetic only and didn't impact the function of the unit. And, it turned out that my installation location has it largely hidden from plain sight. So, now it's up to seeing how durable the unit is. Otherwise, I would TOTALLY buy another of these when I come across another project like this.

I’ll start off with the install was pretty easy. I’m not very handy and I was able to do 90% of the install by myself. (The other 10% would be the electrical box). The unit is VERY quiet, both inside and out. You can’t even tell the outside condenser is on except for the fan slightly spinning. The inside unit is quiet and powerful. I’ve been keeping the fan on a 2 or 3 out of a maximum 6 fan speed. It spits out ice cold air. My only complaint is that the inside unit is a little larger than I would like it to be. Would definitely purchase again.

UPDATE: I've owned this mini split for just under a year now and it has performed great. In fact, I had a small fire in my garage (unrelated to the unit) that damaged the unit shown in the picture. After airing the garage out for awhile and closing it up, I went back out to the garage a couple hours later and the damaged unit had the temperature in the garage cold again! What a great unit! Install was a breeze. I had to watch some youtube videos on how to charge the system but that was simple too. I've had this unit for some of the hotter days of summer and now some cold days and nights of winter, and this unit keeps the temps in my attached garage where they should be. Love this purchase.

I have had zero complaints with the product itself. It has done incredibly well. My biggest issue is with customer service. There was nothing in the packaging whatsoever indicating that you must register the product within 100 days to obtain the lifetime warranty advertised. I contacted the company about an issue I was having about 14 months after the install was complete, fully expecting assistance since it’s advertised as having a lifetime warranty. They said I’m out of luck, even though I can prove my order date, provide the order number, etc. This is incredibly poor service, especially considering there was nothing in the packaging indicating the need to register the product.

I ordered the 18000 BTU unit and it arrived quickly. Unfortunately the compressor unit was damaged in shipping i.e. not fixable/usable. I contacted the seller, sent pictures, and they replaced the unit quickly. I had the units installed by a local HVAC installer and I am satisfied with the performance with the heating ability so far. Northern region of PA. Be careful about getting a tax credit. This unit is not Tax credit qualified in PA.....considered northern region by the IRS. Even though it is supposed to perform in temperatures -15 deg F. It would qualify south of PA. I WOULD buy another one from this seller. I do recommend having a HVAC installer install it for you. Its better for your warranty too. Take pictures of everything and pay attention to all the bar codes you will need the serial numbers to register the warranty with Della. Good Luck.

This is my 3rd unit I have installed of the 18,000 BTU units, they are way cheaper to operate than your whole house heat pumps. The hyper heat units are amazing during the winter months that will provide heat when a regular heat pump has to be switched over to emergency heat. My only dislike is the fan runs all the time and according to the Dela teck support team itt Has to and can not be stopped unless you turn off the unit.

Installed this in my cabin in the white mountains beginning of April and it has been a dream. Guests have really enjoyed how easy it is to use versus the gas fireplace. Ended up buying two more for my new property. Hopefully they really work well in super cold winter, but seem like a great product.
