The mini split was installed 10 months ago and wanted to get through summer and winter before writing the review. I purchased 2 Della mini splits and installed in a cabin. The WI-FI feature is one of the main reasons I picked Della as I wanted to remotely monitor and run the mini splits. Install - Can be done with one person but recommend a buddy to help. Saves time and helps to have an extra set of hands. Install instructions were complete and chose to following a video that an individual made specifically for Della! I need to buy this guy a case of beer! The part that made me nervous was vacuuming the lines, checking for leaks and releasing pre-loaded lines. Buy and quality air vacuum pump and it's actually easy! Again, guy that made the video was awesome. I live in the mid west and the AC worked amazing! Make sure your drain lines are working as it pulls a lot of humidity out. For winter, the temps get in the negatives and noticed the outdoor unit will freeze on the coils. I get heat pumps are not the best for the extreme cold and used electric space heaters. I should mention that the heat pumps are super quiet and can barely hear they are running! Overall I completed the install with help from a friend. Been using for 10 months and extremely happy with the purchase and performance. I am able to remotely monitor the cabin and heat / cool before arriving. Again, a huge thanks to the guy that made the Della mini split install video. If you want a great mini split and have DIY in your DNA......this is the one!

This is a really great unit for the price and even though it was a first time install for me, it was within my skills with a little research, youtube, etc. A couple pieces of advice. If you watch some youtube videos installing this and other mini splits, you will see people bundling and wrapping all the lines and control cable before feeding through the wall to the outside. this turns out to NOT be ideal. the unit comes with the copper coolant lines folded across the back, and if you are facing the front of the unit, this is from Right to Left. The drain is also pre-attached R to L as well. The instructions show you can exit the tubing either out the R, L or straight out the back. Here is the advice. If you exit them from the left of the unit, as they are pre-folded or directed, you end up making the connections on the back of the unit on the inside wall. It also means you have to either connect the lines before you hang the unit and bundle all the lines and then feed to the outside, or make the connections behind the unit while it is hanging. This is quite difficult. If there is any way possible, it is best to take the lines and re-orient them directly out the back, or exiting straight out the back on the R side where they originate. this allows you to make the connections on the outside wall and have easy access to them should there be an issue. After I had installed my unit the hard way, I found a video where this was the method and it would have been 1000x easier. Additionally, after installing my unit, I thought I had a leak and was forced to try to resolve it behind the unit while it was hanging which was beyond challenging. Second piece of advice, which is more of a factor of probably not having much experience is torqueing the copper coolant lines. The manual gives specs for how tight the connections should be and I had a torque wrench with crows foot attachments. this did not work and both of my coolant line connection were over tightened and damaged on the initial connection. The supplied copper lines are adequate, but on the thin side. It was very unfortunate as the factory flares were very clean and nice. But, once I crushed them by overtightening the connections, I did have to reflare them. I would recommend having a flaring tool or ordering one incase this happens. it did take me a couple tries, but I was able to create some acceptable flares that a where leak free. Since installing I have used fan, cool, dehumidify, and turbo, all of which have worked well. This unit is in a building adjacent to our home and we don't use it every day or constantly cool or heat it, but this unit has maintained cooling at 68-72 on 100 plus degree days for 1-2 days at a time with ease. I highly recommend it.

Nice looking unit and seems to work well. However, if you’re installing yourself, be aware that the specs for torque parameter in the installation handbook are incorrect. For 1/4” pipe diameter, the handbook says to flare the pipe to 18-20 N-M. By doing so, the pipe became so fragile that it literally blew up with the slightest touch. Luckily, we were not in the line of fire when it happened otherwise we would have been calling 911. Looking on line, maximum should be 13 N-M. Be careful.

I’m a mechanic and have refrigerant cert but had never worked with a split unit. I first checked the App Store for rating of the app and that ultimately made my decision to go with the Della brand. I feel as though all the splits on Amazon are junk until you get to the $$$ Japanese name brand stuff so an App Store rating was to me a good indicator of build quality, as weird as that sounds. Installed the 12k version in a well insulated 150sf she shed (because overkill). It gets 110f here and we wanted to be able to cool down the room in minutes when we haven’t used the room in days. This unit is impressive, it takes the room temperature down 10f in minutes and is nearly silent. Install was easy but I’m inclined, drilled a ~3” hole and mounted the inside unit, and used $30 l brackets to mount the condenser on the other side of the wall. I cut the line set to about 3’ and used a flare tool. This was just for aesthetics as I could have left the line coiled up. As I opened the evaporator I was concerned because there was pressure but I realized it was nitrogen and that was a good sign. I then attached the line set between the condenser and evaporator and went to pull a vacuum. Nope- I did not have the correct r410 adapter for my gauge set… 1 good friend and 30 minutes later I had the vacuum pump running. Pulled my unit down to 200 microns (because overkill), removed gauges, opened the valves on the condenser and was ready for a test run. Covered all outside lines with a cheap plastic 3” cover, used expanding foam and caulked the covers. Failed to mention power, 20a breaker to the condenser 10 feet away via 1/2” emt and a short 1/2” seal tight flex whip. The evaporator is powered by an output section on the condenser and it included SO wire the same length as the line set ~15’ to the evaporator inside. Directions were adequate but obviously translated. Overall I was very pleased, just purchased the 18k unit for my 2 car garage. I’m now a cheap split unit believer.

It’s 90 degrees out and my unit can not keep up it’s currently set to 70 on thermostat and it’s 79/80 in room that’s only 300 square foot , it barley puts out any air even on turbo mode , I bought this unit to replace a 10k btu window ac and it is no where near close to the cooling power of the little tcl window unit and the della is supposed to be a 12k btu unit. I had to put a window unit back in yesterday because the mini split isn’t powerful enough to cool down the room . I do not recommend my first review was taken down UPDATE 9/21/25 - Unit finally stopped working after only 3 months no cold air , started to make a cracking noise other night and now it’s not cooling at all !! this has been a complete disaster of a unit I should of purchased a quality brand you get what you pay for
