AC was possibly damaged when delivered by UPS. The shipping box was not sturdy cardboard and the styrofoam packing was nowhere near what I'd expect for such a heavy item. I recently unboxed a new 43" tv that had more packing material than this. While the AC unit is damaged the cardboard box itself did not show any signs of a drop. The AC weighs nearly 60lbs and the steel case is dinged up pretty significantly. I wonder if this was dropped in the factory itself before shipping. When I fully unboxed the AC I noticed the remote control and mounting hardware were missing. Without the remote control I have to walk up to the unit to operate/adjust it. Without the remote I cannot sync up the AC with their smartphone App. I contacted customer service and was told I be receiving a replacement remote. I asked if I needed to paint over the cracked area but was told I did not need to. I'm thinking it will start to rust if metal is exposed to the elements. I haven't mounted the AC yet since I'm still waiting on the parts they're sending to me. I powered it up inside the house to make sure the AC hadn't suffered any issues from the drop. It sounded ok with no rubbing or weird noises. It does keep pretty darn quiet even while running inside. I imagine it will be even better when its mounted properly and the compressor is outside the window. Only time will tell if everything works as planned. Here is where I'm at until things are resolved. This unit delivered with damage on the back of the unit which twisted the frame and the plastic grill on the front is broken. Integration with Google Home is terrible. You can only turn the unit On/Off and adjust Fan Speed. Noise level of the inverter compressor is a bit loud at slower speeds. I'm not sure if this is due to the damage of the chassis. Besides that the unit would be very very quiet! Overall size is bigger than I thought it was going to be for an 8,000btu unit. It's sized similar to a 10,000btu unit that is not an inverter. Weight is the same story. Just be aware of that. I do not like the accordion sides they use on this unit. It's 3 plastic pieces that move in and out instead of the typical pleated accordion style you see on any other AC out there. They don't seal the sides as nicely. Cooling ability at the moment is very good. The air is very cold and time will tell. I will adjust my review when the seller makes things right. ... show more

Got this unit on sale and couldnt be happier with the value. I easily installed this in my studio in Hollywood just in time for summer and didn't feel a thing. The fit of the AC was a bit tight but I prefer that to help with insulation. I put it in my kitchen window and it's pretty far removed from my main living space. Usually, this would mean that it's internal thermostat will shut it off before the main living space is the right temperature. However, I linked this AC to my Amazon Echo Dot in my main living space. This means that my dot can control the AC based on its own internal thermostat and have it work more precisely. Also, the AC is incredibly quiet, especially in it's mute mode. We had to modify our window in order to use this as our windows slide left to right. This unit cools the ambient temperature of the room very quickly and very well. We are able to run it on eco mode with auto fan so it can determine what it needs to do I order to properly cool our room. The room is at least 500sqft in size and in 113* weather this unit is able to cool the room to 70 and maintain that temperature all day. It is also very quiet while running ... show more
