  • Windows problem + hardware issues... not happy
UPDATE: Mainframe died and won't start just after 13 months, right after 1 year warranty was over! Dell Korea charging me $300 to fix it... crazy. This is my last Dell computer. ========================== Been using Macbook for a while... and my god I can feel the difference already. Reboot, waking up from sleep mode is so much slower... some time after sleep mode it won't wake up even after opening the screen, forcing forced reboot. Screen is wide horizontally, but lacking vertically. Trackpad is very frustrating... cursor bounces to another place every now and then, driving me nuts. (I hit it once) Some flaws are windows flaw...I realize but some hardware problems also couldn've been better. ... show more

  • Very poor build quality
I use this for school so it sits in a backpack and doesn't get thrown around too much Despite this light handling a screw fell out about 6 months after owning this device and now the power button does what it wants. The build quality on this ckmputer is extremely poor and the touch screen is more of a hassle than a help. Do not buy ... show more

  • Four Stars
Doesn't get 5 stars because the trackpad has been buggy, as in jumping across the entire screen in AutoCAD

  • Do not buy laptop online- go to a store or the original Dell Store instead
laptop arrived 2 days on time, but after using the laptop for 1 month, the laptop produced an error message saying "bios error- hard drive encountered an issue." So I sent the laptop back to the company to get it fixed (which I have to pay), and the laptop takes a while to get fixed and sent back to me (2 weeks now). What I highly recommend is NOT buying the laptop online like me, instead purchase it via store. The laptop is fast but storage is limited so you will need to purchase an external hard drive. After this stupid bio issue, I am pretty damn sure the laptop will be slow or whatever. Key spacing is going take some time to accommodate when typing, track pad is not an issue. Overall, laptop is 3 but not a 5 that is for sure, due to reasons with the laptop problems and the fact that it takes a while to get it fixed. ... show more

  • -built like a freaking tank (build quality is absolutely insanely good) ...
let's keep things short: PROS: -built like a freaking tank (build quality is absolutely insanely good) -battery life ( i have the 1080p touch version and i'm getting around 10-11 hours of regular use) -keyboard (good travel distance and feels very responsive) -'infinity edge' display (very beautiful) CONS: -when i ordered the device, I thought the 1080p was a non-touch, but it wasn't (poor descriptions for corresponding version of this device) - NOTE THAT THE SSD PORT ONLY SUPPORTS SATA (so if you want to buy 128gb and upgrade the ssd, make sure you have a sata ssd) EXTRA: For those who are comparing this to the razer blade stealth (kaby-lake version), please don't. I have both devices now and the superior build quality and battery life of the xps13 is definitely a smarter choice. ... show more

  • Defective computer out of the box and terrible customer service from dell
You see how there's much replies regarding a defective product with coil whines or some sort of problems, exact thing happen to me, thought it was gonna be fine, but NOPE. I mean sure, you can replace the computer if you bought it in US, but if you ship it out, some suppliers aren't willing to replace it, because I bought it from another country. I live in Taipei, they didn't replace the computer, cos I bought it from US. The customer service, at least in my country, is truly terrible, and I think this applies to asian countries, where the tech supports are unknowledgeable and only provide useless software support, and keep telling to try again, didn't fix my problem. The one technicians keeps on saying if that the keyboard part isn't replaceable, when I asked another technician he states that it can be replaced. Also, that one technician even said, if it works, just keep on using it. Like, one kind of bloody response it that ey? Honestly, it's truly disappointing. Keep in mind, that all my friends that own who bought a XPS 13 as a problem out of the box. But all of them is fixable, which is kinda annoying, keeping in mind customer service is kinda terrible in asian countries. However, other than that, it's quite worth the price, but the two problem are two big problems to keep in mind. FYI: My problem is there are certain keys on my keyboard that you couldn't press down smoothly, extremely annoying after typing a while. Also, the coil whine problem, but its not as big of a problem as you may think, well at least on my unit, but the keyboard problem is huge. ... show more

  • Almost 2 year review
I've had mine for nearly 2 years but I also bought this laptop when it was around $800. It's never given me any problems with anything. The camera is at an odd placement but if you really need to use a camera a plug in one would do just fine without any problems, otherwise if you don't have much need for the camera you should be fine. I have attached pictures of my laptop currently (I have accessorized with stickers... not how laptop will arrive) ... show more
