I'm returning this because either the OS isn't consistently reading the power adapter or there's a hardware issue like a short preventing consistent charging. Either way, you sold me a defective product. Never using you again.

I love this laptop. It has reasonable battery life considering its power. Battery and memory are easy to replace in this laptop. To update: my touch screen is beautiful, but it went bad after two years. The repair shop told me it will cost over $400 to replace ! But they turned off the “touch feature” and it works without that feature. Just disappointing to lose the touch feature, which is the reason I spent so much on the laptop in the beginning. ... show more

Truly, the Dell XPS 17 is the WORST laptop I have ever owned. There's not even a close second. I spent several thousand on a custom build XPS 17 for work that should have been an absolute beast. It was not. The startup time is horrendous, and once it does finally start up you'll spend the next 5-6 minutes just waiting for it to unfreeze. It will slow down or freeze constantly to keep from overheating, and the battery life is piss poor. Because of the sheer cost, I begrudgingly put up with it for a year, but finally I had to buy different laptop. As a Texan I hate to say this, but I will go the rest of my life without ever buying another Dell product again, Texas company or not. Save yourself the trouble, do not buy this laptop. ... show more

Solid, powerful, and stylish. Pro: i9 Processor (Early Generation - 2021). Fast 1TB SSD. Great 4K touch screen. Good Keyboard. Dell software and support excellent. Comprehensive recovery software. Sturdy metal and composite construction. Great power supply. 4 USB C with Thunderbolt and Power Delivery! (Very useful for external displays.) USB + HDMI Adapter Included - work perfectly. Very configurable. (Dell has excellent and comprehensive BIOS style settings.) Second High performance graphics controller -- runs high end games well, but limits battery life. Lots of crapware, easy to unistall. Graphics utilites very useful, as are management tools. As with most Dell's -- good asset controls built in. Neutral: Touch Pad -- Very good for a Windows computer - not up to Apple standards. Con: Runs hot (even with discrete graphics turned off). Battery life when new. Low load - 3 hours.
