Purchased to replace a Windows 10 computer to use to record music so performance was needed along with Windows 11. Many thanks to others feedback and suggestions about this unit as it’s my first Windows 11 as well. OS installed no issues on first power up and after copying thousands of files and dozens of apps from my old PC everything working great! Had to purchase a Display port cable as only comes with a short power cord. No dents or cracks on case as was mentioned by others. Opened unit to confirm can add another storage drive but need to order a $8 accessory to do that so no bigs as I saved so much on buying a refurbish. Only doc included are two pages. Best to go to Dell support site, put in the service tag number and get everything from Docs to drivers and Bios updates and yes, WiFi done via small USB adaptor included. May use but I’m connected using ethernet cable. Unit is quiet and fast to boot Windows. Bottom line, learn from tips from others like I do and savings and experience will be great! ... show more

This refurbishment is very well done. I bought this machine as a general purpose computer for home. It was important to me to have an Intel processor, enough RAM, and Windows 11. I also wanted to add a second hard drive to it, so it needed a space for a 3.5" HDD. The first thing I did was open the case to see where the second hard drive fits. Dell has very good designs for hard drive mounting and this one was very accessible and very easy to snap in and out. Importantly about the refurbishment, the inside of the computer is very clean and very neatly put together. The work done was outstanding. I struggled to find the SATA power connector for my HDD because it was tucked under the DVD drive. I'm very pleased with my purchase. ... show more

    • This is a SOLID Windows 11-capable system at an AMAZING price.

But, be ready for what you're getting. You'll receive an OLDER, ahead-of-its-time system that was probably built and sold to schools or colleges and used very little by the time it rotated back out and was replaced. Those older systems then go to a refurbisher who cleans them up, checks them out, and resells them. That means they're in reliably-good shape when you get them, but be careful to read VERY CAREFULLY. Many of the systems you see being advertised for pennies-on-the-dollar are cheap because they aren't capable of running Windows 11 and future OS that requires TPM 2.0 (or higher). They'll be fine until about 2025, but after that, it's up to the manufacturer as to whether they will support Windows 10 or another OS on the unit. But enough. My Optiplex 5060 arrived in a plain box that was well-suited for shipping. But, honestly, the Optiplex was the ONLY THING IN THE BOX. No power cord, no keyboard, no mouse, no driver CDs, NOTHING. So, these little units may not be for everyone. That being said, within 3 hours of receiving the Optiplex, I had connected it up to existing keyboard, mouse, and power and was in the process of transferring all the files and apps from my old Windows 10 computer (thank you Lap-Link Mover Pro!). After getting the Windows 11 up and running, I added a second 1 TB SDD (you'll need a SATA power splitter and an additional SATA data cable to connect to the vacant second channel SATA adapter connector on the main board to add a second SATA drive.) The main board also supports the micro-format and large-format M.2 SDD drives if you crave yet another TB or so of storage. Don't expect much of the WiFi either. You may want to reserve the limited PCIe slots to add a Wifi-Bluetooth combo card, because the USB-based WiFi dongle I got with my system was an 802.11n which cut my WiFi speeds by 66% over my retired system running 802.11ac. Overall, I'd give this little diamond 5 stars if it weren't for the corners cut on things like power cords and WiFi. But, as it sits, this little system was worth every penny paid and more. ... show more

These worked well for about 3 months and have since become virtually useless. One crashes with blue screen regularly and one has 100% disk usage when nothing is working almost all the time so it is less functional than the 5 year old pc I replaced.

Been using it for a while now to replace my 7 old, no longer supported WIN 10 Tower. The number one noticeable difference is how amazingly FAST this thing is! Of course, I never had experiences with a desktop that utilized an SSD before, so that, in addition to the generous amount of fast memory, is causing me to get many speeding tickets along the "information highway!" My main uses are everyday home usage such as banking, surfing the internet, and audio and video editing. Connecting and using my peripheral devices has been smooth without issue. Be aware, there is NO DVD drive . At least mine did not come with one. I did purchase an inexpensive external USB DVD recordable drive. So far, it's been a pure pleasure to use. When I received this computer, it was very easy to set up since they had very detailed instructions and even included a section on what to do if you needed to recover (Pictures included). Well, disappointment started day one. After about 2 or 3 reboots, the computer refused to boot with the error there was no boot system. I contacted them over email and explained the situation and what I had tried. Without hesitation, they took my word for it and trusted my diagnosis and started a replacement. They immediately sent me a pre-paid shipping label. I packed it up in the same box without cables or antennas as requested and shipped it back. Probably within a week in a half, I had a new system. I booted it, set it up, and it has been running link a champ ever since. This was a very quality system, at a good price, with fantastic customer support. Believe me, it is rare to get that kind of support. In the past, vendors have treated me like I was trying to scam them and sent me through a litany of testing and discussions before they would agree to replace it. Many times, I would just give up and get a refund. This was a breath of fresh air to have customer support that really did support you. ... show more
