This laptop just *gets the job done*. it's fast-opens programs in a snap, handles tons of tabs, and doesn't slow down even when I'm juggling work apps. The screen looks great, the keyboard is comfortable for typing all day, and the battery easily lasts through meetings and coffee

    • Laptop was defective and customer service is amazingly difficult

The laptop itself worked ok except that there was a problem with the monitor backlight going out randomly. It was astonishingly difficult to figure out how to contact customer service at all, but eventually we succeeded. I was able to ship them the laptop and they said they fixed it, it was a loose cable - however, they shipped me back someone else's laptop with that person's personal information, and they had shipped my laptop to someone else. They were apologetic and paid for me to ship back the laptop they had incorrectly sent me, and eventually sent mine back to me. Except the backlight still wasn't working correctly. So we shipped the laptop back to them to repair it again; a month later, after not hearing anything from them, we send some emails. At first they say they have made this a priority item and will get it back to me in no time, it was definitely just a loose cable that needed to be tightened. More time goes by, and eventually they say they are just going to send me a replacement. They didn't admit to it, but considering they kept saying it was just a loose cable but after repairing it it still didn't work, and the fact that they shipped my laptop to the wrong person once, and took forever to "repair" it the second time and ultimately decided to just send me a replacement, my suspicion is that they either had no idea what was wrong with it and couldn't fix it but didn't want to admit that, or they just lost my laptop and didn't want to admit that so they had to give me a new one. Regardless, if you buy a laptop from amazon and it works well then no problem, but if there is any problem with the laptop at all, my experience has been that getting it taken care of will take months and a lot of effort on your part, and there seems to be a decent chance that they will send your property (and private information like username and password) to a random person that is not you, or simply lose it altogether. I do not think buying computers from amazon is a good idea after this experience. ... show more
