The laptop looks almost new, with just a few small scratches underneath that I can only see with a LED flashlight. It works perfectly and has no issues, but using a single 16GB RAM stick instead of two 8GB sticks really hurts the graphical performance, which isn’t great to begin with.

The BIOS is locked with a password. No password found in the shipping box. The screen membrane has 2 holes in it. BIOS reports that battery health is POOR The left mouse button is worn down and out. The computer arrived is a well packed box. Once I powered it on, it booted into a user account. I prefer the setup option from Microsoft. When I tried to add my Microsoft account I was denied access. I preformed a reset recovery. When I finished the setup process, I was able to login with my Microsoft account. I knew from experience how to overcome this challenge. Many would have been frustrated. They said it came with a 90 day warranty. Today is 90 days and suddenly I got a blue screen and it won't work. Period. Isn't that interesting? 90 days exactly.

For a "used" computer, it looks brand new. Maybe it was sitting on the shelf for 5 years. A steal for what I paid considering the "new" price. Fully loaded, no need to add memory. Comes with Windows 11 Pro, not 10 as advertised, so that is a plus. Real happy with this laptop.

The renewed Dell Latitude 5500 laptop I received looks practically brand new. The keyboard was probably replaced because there is no sign of wear whatsoever on the key caps. On the cover of the laptop, they placed a semi-transparent sheet of plastic that makes the cover of the laptop look new...this seems to be the norm for renewed laptops purchased on Amazon. The system boots immediately into the desktop as user 'dell' w/o a password, which can be changed, but I don't care about that because it a laptop to be used at home and shared with the family. This is the second used laptop I bought from Amazon, along with 4 used desktop machines for labs at work. I've been happy with all computer purchases from Amazon. ... show more
