This is a REFURB device. One should NOT expect perfection. HOWEVER, the Seller we purchased from, provided a perfectly CLEAN, solid device that functions not only as described but is functionally NEW. In fact, when I received the device it still had a week or so of Corporate-level Dell Support contract. The laptop we received was functionally new, clean, and perfect. As a former Network Engineer, I tested upfront nearly every aspect of the laptop, from USB ports to both Display Adapters (this unit has an in-built Intel UHD 620 Display Adapter as well as an AMD Radeon 540X mobile Display Adapter, for more advanced 3-D processing or light gaming. I inspected the BIOS and set all settings for general on power-supply performance. Even though we'll never use it, the screen is also touchscreen which was not advertised but also adds value for resale or repurpose for other uses than the laptop was purchased for. This is an excellent laptop with a very compact design considering the screen-size class (15.6"), has a very solid feel and chassis that exudes quality, the keyboard is decent in both feel and having a quality 10-key, and just basically feels very well-built and solid in construction and design. Dell built a very high-quality Business-Class machine and chassis here, and it shows. The backlit keys are a must for me, too. Users who are data-hoarders should know there is only room for either ONE 2.5-inch SSD or ONE M.2 drive, but not BOTH at once. That is to say, the laptop accepts EITHER/OR, but not BOTH. The device I received came configured with an M.2 drive which is proven to be "healthy" by all testing software I used. There are some reasonable and simple hacks out there that exist on the Internet, I suggest you search if you want 8 Terrabytes in this machine, it is possible without much work. I should add, we received the Power Supply as a unit that only supplied 60-Watts of power; at boot-time the BIOS reported that the Power Supply would work with the Laptop, but would not allow the laptop to achieve full performance, I contacted the Amazon seller "CL 3", and received a prompt reply. To make the story short, their e-mail Customer Service was PROMPT, and EXCELLENT. The immediately responded to rectify the issue, and promptly without any argument or issues responded with an e-mail and supplied me a proper Power Supply at no additional cost. CL 3 is is awesome, and we will look to purchase from them in the future, based upon the quality of the refurbishment of the laptop, their Customer Service responsiveness, and their efforts to remedy a fix for a relatively small and non time-sensitive issue. When I received this Dell Latitude 5500 laptop it looked brand new, very clean. It's in excellent condition for a 5 year old computer. No worn keyboard keys. No dents or scratches anywhere. i went into the UEFI (BIOS) and it showed the battery is in excellent condition. In the UEFI I disabled the touchscreen technology because it put too much drain on the battery. Now the battery runs for about 6 hours while mostly streaming videos. Both the battery and AC charger look brand new or nearly so. The ports I've used so far all work fine. It came with Windows 11 but I'm not a Windows fan so I replaced it with Linux MInt, which works great in it. The 4.1 GHz turbo boost in the Intel i-5 CPU makes it snappy. This Dell 5500 laptop arrived on time and was as advertised, with one exception - no fingerprint sensor. When contacted, Computer Deal USA quickly agreed to a partial refund. Ad stated "refurbished - excellent", it looks new and has great battery life. I had no trouble upgrading to Win 11 Pro, a 1Tb Nvme ssd, and 16Gb RAM.
