  • 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U processor: With the ultra-low-voltage platform and quad-core, eight-way processing, it provides maximum high-efficiency power to go. The Intel Turbo Boost technology delivers dynamic extra power when you need it.
  • 8GB system memory for advanced multitasking: Substantial high-bandwidth RAM to smoothly run your games, photo- and video-editing applications, as well as multiple programs and browser tabs at the same time. 256GB solid-state drive (SSD) While offering less storage space than a hard drive, a flash-based SSD has no moving parts, resulting in faster start-up times and data access, no noise, and reduced heat production and power draw on the battery.

  • 15.6" Full HD display: Its 1920 x 1080 resolution showcases your games and HD movies with impressive color and clarity. The antireflective finish reduces eyestrain and widens the field of view.

Dell Latitude 5500 - A Solid Choice for Home and Business Uses!
Style: laptop
Review Image by Michail Michail
I recently purchased the Dell Latitude 5500 laptop with an Intel i5 processor for both personal and professional use. After several weeks of extensive use, I am pleased to share my thoughts on this versatile laptop. Performance: 4.5/5 The Intel i5 processor ensures smooth multitasking and efficient performance, making it suitable for both home and business tasks. Whether I'm working on spreadsheets, browsing multiple tabs, or streaming content, the laptop handles everything with ease. The 8GB RAM further contributes to a responsive experience, ensuring quick application launches and smooth transitions. Design and Build Quality: 4/5 The Latitude 5500 features a sleek and professional design, fitting seamlessly into my home office. The build quality is solid, and the laptop feels durable. The 15.6-inch display offers a good balance between portability and screen real estate, making it comfortable for extended work sessions without sacrificing mobility. Display: 4/5 The Full HD display produces vibrant colors and sharp details, providing an enjoyable viewing experience. While the brightness is generally sufficient for indoor use, it could be slightly improved for better visibility in brightly lit environments. The anti-glare coating, however, minimizes reflections and reduces eye strain during extended use. Battery Life: 4.5/5 The battery life is decent, providing around 7 hours of usage on a full charge under normal work conditions. While this is respectable, I expected a bit more longevity, especially because I am frequently on the go. However, the laptop's quick charging feature somewhat helps mitigate this concern. Connectivity: 5/5 The Latitude 5500 boasts an impressive array of ports, including USB Type-C, HDMI, and multiple USB 3.0 ports, ensuring seamless connectivity with various peripherals and devices. The inclusion of an SD card reader is a thoughtful addition, catering to users who frequently transfer data from cameras and other devices. Conclusion: The Dell Latitude 5500 with Intel i5 is a reliable and well-rounded laptop that excels in both home and business environments. Its robust performance, solid build quality, and diverse connectivity options make it a compelling choice for users seeking a versatile laptop for their everyday computing needs. While the battery life could be improved, it remains a minor drawback in comparison to the laptop's overall positive attributes. If you're in the market for a dependable laptop with a good balance of power and portability, the Dell Latitude 5500 is certainly worth considering. ... show more

Excellent value from and excellent Seller!
Style: laptop
This is a REFURB device. One should NOT expect perfection. HOWEVER, the Seller we purchased from, provided a perfectly CLEAN, solid device that functions not only as described but is functionally NEW. In fact, when I received the device it still had a week or so of Corporate-level Dell Support contract. The laptop we received was functionally new, clean, and perfect. As a former Network Engineer, I tested upfront nearly every aspect of the laptop, from USB ports to both Display Adapters (this unit has an in-built Intel UHD 620 Display Adapter as well as an AMD Radeon 540X mobile Display Adapter, for more advanced 3-D processing or light gaming. I inspected the BIOS and set all settings for general on power-supply performance. Even though we'll never use it, the screen is also touchscreen which was not advertised but also adds value for resale or repurpose for other uses than the laptop was purchased for. This is an excellent laptop with a very compact design considering the screen-size class (15.6"), has a very solid feel and chassis that exudes quality, the keyboard is decent in both feel and having a quality 10-key, and just basically feels very well-built and solid in construction and design. Dell built a very high-quality Business-Class machine and chassis here, and it shows. The backlit keys are a must for me, too. Users who are data-hoarders should know there is only room for either ONE 2.5-inch SSD or ONE M.2 drive, but not BOTH at once. That is to say, the laptop accepts EITHER/OR, but not BOTH. The device I received came configured with an M.2 drive which is proven to be "healthy" by all testing software I used. There are some reasonable and simple hacks out there that exist on the Internet, I suggest you search if you want 8 Terrabytes in this machine, it is possible without much work. I should add, we received the Power Supply as a unit that only supplied 60-Watts of power; at boot-time the BIOS reported that the Power Supply would work with the Laptop, but would not allow the laptop to achieve full performance, I contacted the Amazon seller "CL 3", and received a prompt reply. To make the story short, their e-mail Customer Service was PROMPT, and EXCELLENT. The immediately responded to rectify the issue, and promptly without any argument or issues responded with an e-mail and supplied me a proper Power Supply at no additional cost. CL 3 is is awesome, and we will look to purchase from them in the future, based upon the quality of the refurbishment of the laptop, their Customer Service responsiveness, and their efforts to remedy a fix for a relatively small and non time-sensitive issue. Great company and great Customer Service! ... show more

SO far so good...
Style: laptop
So far so good. I will need to allow more time to allow any issues to arise but I am liking the backlit keyboard and the type of touch pad. Not easy to find on the newer ones... Seller was good to work with on an issue of an expiring activation key. .Hopefully this will be the one I've been searching for .. fingers crossed. ... show more

Excellent Used Computer
Style: laptop
When I received this Dell Latitude 5500 laptop it looked brand new, very clean. It's in excellent condition for a 5 year old computer. No worn keyboard keys. No dents or scratches anywhere. i went into the UEFI (BIOS) and it showed the battery is in excellent condition. In the UEFI I disabled the touchscreen technology because it put too much drain on the battery. Now the battery runs for about 6 hours while mostly streaming videos. Both the battery and AC charger look brand new or nearly so. The ports I've used so far all work fine. It came with Windows 11 but I'm not a Windows fan so I replaced it with Linux MInt, which works great in it. The 4.1 GHz turbo boost in the Intel i-5 CPU makes it snappy. I'm very pleased with this laptop. ... show more

Happy laptop owner after price adjustment
Style: laptop
This Dell 5500 laptop arrived on time and was as advertised, with one exception - no fingerprint sensor. When contacted, Computer Deal USA quickly agreed to a partial refund. Ad stated "refurbished - excellent", it looks new and has great battery life. I had no trouble upgrading to Win 11 Pro, a 1Tb Nvme ssd, and 16Gb RAM. Also has a backlit keyboard, a must-have for us elderlies. I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more
