The floor gets very slippery with the humidity in my home and at times it gets crazy to the point where the machine does its very best to clear all the water on the floor. However when it is way too humid I guess like everything else the machine has its limit. I don't really have any complaints because it keeps things dry for the most part. The room gets very humid and smells moldy and I am not sure about 800+ sq ft coverage but for a room that fits 2 queen size beds and part of the hallway, it does a very good job! I would give it a 4.5 stars but I will give it 5 because it works very well about 97%. Hope this helps

According to my thermostat, my indoor humidity was usually between 50-60%. After running this I am usually closer to the 50% mark most of the time. It works well for what it is, but it's meant for a smaller area and certainly not an entire house. I moved it around every day to see where it had the best effect. I ended up keeping it in my bedroom since my attached bathroom will probably generate the most humidity in my house, after I've taken a shower or something. My place isn't overly humid, so I suppose I'm not incredibly surprised that this didn't just fill up with water. But after 24 hours of running it did pull a decent amount of humidity out of the air. It's easy to use, pretty much press the button and it's going. I prefer to turn off the light up color changing water tank, I have no need for that. I have found the "sleep mode" pretty useless, I can't tell a difference between that an the regular mode at all. It's not as quiet as I would like on sleep mode, and the white buttons are VERY bright in a dark room, so I end up just turning it off at night or moving it into a different room.

I live in a semi basement apartment. Room always smelled musty or locker room damp. No leaks in room. Since using this the room is now smelling fresh and clean and no damp feeling. Display turns red when catch bucket is full. Work great for my small apartment. Con: the lighted display to me is too bright at night but I’m light sensitive while sleeping. Need a dimmer mode but may not bother others.

Ordered this dehumidifier because of the 850-950 sq ft claim. Here's my experience: 1. The dehumidifier is a Peltier type which I was not familiar with until it arrived and I started doing research on it. It works on the basis of a thermoelectric cooler (solid state semiconductor). This type is energy efficient but is well-known for not being capable of handing larger spaces or very humid environments. Relative to a refrigerant/condenser drier, it takes a longer time and is probably best for locations like closets. 2. I used this for 24 hours in a room of about 600 sq ft and with about 60-70% humidity. At the end of the period, there was perhaps half a pint of water in the bucket and the room humidity had not budged. A refrigerant/condenser version placed in the same room over the same period had to be emptied twice of about one gallon of water each time and brought the humidity level to the upper forties. 3. Because I am not interested in dehumidifying a closet, I am no longer using this drier and cannot see using it in the future. In sum, 3 stars for probable use in closets or other small spaces.
