So far, so good. I was initially unsure if this would be reliable enough for my needs, but it seems to be working as hoped after some quick testing. I’m using it to keep humidity down in my Florida home while I’m away for the summer, set up on an elevated kitchen island with a hose draining into the sink. Ceiling fans run on low in every room, and my Nest thermostat is programmed to run the whole-house AC fan (just the fan, no cooling) for 15 minutes every hour from noon to 7 p.m. This should circulate air between rooms, while keeping the AC set to around 85 degrees to minimize energy use. My goal is to let the house warm to about 85 but keep humidity near 45%. Last year, without a separate dehumidifier, I had to run the AC remotely when humidity rose too high, even though the temperature wasn’t bad. What I like most are the different modes and settings, the ability to resume after a power outage, and the hose drain option. It’s rated for 2,500 sq. ft., which matches my home, so I’m curious to see how it performs for months of unattended operation. It’s easy to use, well-designed, light enough to move thanks to roller wheels, and despite being plastic, feels durable. Power draw is 230 watts at 120 volts AC, and it switches to standby when the set level is reached, turning back on if needed. There’s also a continuous mode for nonstop operation. So far, I’m impressed. 11/25 UPDATE: I was away for about 2.5 months this summer, and my plan to use this to keep the humidity in the house at reasonable levels worked... somewhat. I still had to run the AC about once a week during really oppressive heat waves and every other week under normal conditions, which wasn’t too bad. It was a brutally hot summer in Florida, and I monitored things remotely via the Nest app and video cams in the house. I don’t think it can quite keep up with a Florida summer in a 2,500 sq ft home. It definitely helped and seemed to run a lot, but there were times when the humidity climbed into the high 60% range, at which point I’d run the AC for a day to bring it back down to around 44%. That said, I think it would work just fine for a single room. My next Florida home will have a whole-house dehumidifier along with an AC unit, but for now this helps, even if it’s not the perfect solution. For the money, it’s a good option.

Doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, which is fine, but it works well for my basement in a four bedroom house (about 2800 sqft, plus the basement, which is probably about 1500 sqft) in Michigan (so it has to battle the existence of a sump pump on the other side of the basement). I couldn't find how to set the target humidity (but I didn't look too hard, either), and I used a humidity gauge in the middle of the basement to check its effectiveness, and it kept the humidity around 50% (without a dehumidifier, it will get over 70%). It's small, bit works surprisingly well. And it isn't any louder than other units I've had.

I use this in my home machine shop to prevent my tools from rusting. My shop is nearly 700 square feet, but doesn't have a lot of foot traffic in and out, and has a wall unit A/C so it doesn't have to deal with a lot of outside air. I bought it to replace a bigger unit that isn't made anymore. This one drains into a small condensate pump container which then pumps the collected water out through my shop wall along with the condensate from my air compressor. If you don't want to have to empty it twice a day you'll need a condensate pump or a floor drain for it to empty into. Some dehumidifiers (but not most) have a built in pump, but this one doesn't, so if you use the drain hose it has to be downhill into a drain or sink. This is small and ight enough to put on a shelf to drain into a sink. Almost every dehumidifier and A/C wall unit nowadays uses aluminum coils and only lasts 2-3 years. I always buy the 4-year extended warranty and always have to use it. This one has copper coils and should last longer, but only time will tell. The picture show the dehumidifier, condensate pump, and bottom of my 80 gallon air compressor with all their hoses going through the wall.

This dehumidifier is just what I needed for my home. It arrived in a double carton to protect it from damage. It was an easy set-up. It seems to be doing a great job. It runs quietly and I'm very happy with the results.

I have a 1,500 sf house and this unit cannot keep up with the dehumidification (I did not realize it was so weak until the return window jad closed). This was my second unit, the first barely worked at all and I foolishly returned it and accepted a replacement instead of a refund. The only saving grace was that the plastic on the rear of each unit was cracked at the electrical plug. It doesn't effect the function and Amazon gave me a $25 credit on each unit to look past the crack (vs sending it back for a cosmetic blemish). The unit also costs more to operate and is louder than I expected.

Update: I used it for 3 months during the humid summer. Now that it is getting hot again and I need to reduce the humidity, it will not work properly. The humidity can be set at 40% and the machine will turn on at 20%. It goes off and on for no reason all day and night when the humidity is still low in the house. It was a waste of money. Previous:Has helped reduce the humidity in my house and make it more comfortable. Be aware, it is quite loud, especially on "high", but even on "low" I can hear it everywhere in my house. The water reservoir is small and needs force to remove it. While it is out for emptying, the machine will continue to release water, so a towel is necessary as you dispose of the water. I ended up using the hose attachment, putting the unit on a cart and a bucket below. I live in the desert, so I didn't want to waste water by having it go down the drain. Be aware, dehumidifier water should not be used on plants you intend to eat, only on non-edible plants.

This is a small unit with very small water tank and small hose, non-standard connection. Won't connect to garden hose. It is nice and quiet.
