This thing is so easy to use! Just pop some AAA batteries in the remote, stick the boat in the water and you're off, using the joystick to head whichever direction you want. The boat goes quicker than I expected and turns pretty well. There's a ballast you can lower into the water to keep it upright, which works reasonably well, even in paddle mode, where the character tends to drag paddles slower than the motors will drive the boat forward. The light is neat and bright, so easy to see at dusk or in the evening. This works best in calm waters, not choppy or windy lakes. So far the battery life seems to be pretty good, but never long enough for all the kids to have a turn with it. That said, it's a small boat, so I wouldn't expect a giant battery to last for hours. It charges up quickly enough and then you're off again to have some more fun. Overall my kids love this and I even get a kick out of playing with it, so it is definitely worth ordering!

I ordered 2, 1 was delivered then 2 came a couple days later. 1 out of the three wouldn't charge so I'm glad they made an error in shipping because I will still have 2 that work for when my granddaughters arrive to use them in the pool Very cute!

This is a very fun RC toy. I showed the kids how to play with it and then all of the adults wanted to have a go too. The only thing that could be improved is the battery life, but then again you're cramming a small battery into a small toy, so you can only expect so much. I think the battery lasted around 20 to 25 minutes of actual run time before it needed a charge again. The remote is NOT rechargeable and you'll need to supply your own double A batteries. Not a big deal but it would be nice to have a rechargeable remote as well. I recommend lowering the ballast to keep it upright. This thing is pretty fast and has great maneuverability. Overall, this is a lot of fun. If you've got more than one kid you may want to consider getting two!

Like a tad under 8 inches in length. Small toy grade RC awesomeness. Only with 1 battery and that lasts around 20 minutes of play. Comes with a usb charging cable. Since no silicone cover for the battery charging port underneath the kayak i would recommend blow drying before plugging in to charge. Water and electricity don't mix? Why do they do that. I would have made the charging port on the top area with a rubber gasket cover. Just me and my OCD. Very simple single handle operation reminiscent of a Wii Nunchuk controller. Controller uses 2 AA batteries not included. I only use lithium-ion based batteries as they DO NOT leak and offer very long term storage worry free. Before playing may sure the counterbalance hammer is flipped facing down. Has LED lights for nighttime play. Includes 2 sets of oars and one was not straight. Use hair dryer on low heat to straighten out. Very cool looking item. These toy grade RC stuff are just as fun as my hobby grade stuff. PEACE - LIVE - LIFE - LOVE - LAUGH - PRAY

This is a really cool pool toy that kids and adults will enjoy. The kayak is not particularly big - about 8 inches in length. The battery is house inside the boat and is not removable. The boat is actually charged with a specialty USB cable. The controller takes two AAA batteries - not included. The instructions are okay and I suggest you read completely in order to correctly set up the boat. Once the setup is complete, the boat is ready to be placed in your pool or bathtub. The boat will not work until it is place in water. It is easy to control the boat and, by pressing a button on the controller, the kayaker will actually paddle the boat. When your water trip is over, wipe down the boat and remove any excess water. Overall, this is a really neat radio control toy that kids of all ages will love.

In the first use, one of the propeller broke. There was a spare part included to replace it. However, when it hit the side of an above ground vinyl pool, the person and oar fell apart on the second use. Before it fell apart it was fun, but not worth the price paid. Disappointed. We bought two, the second one did not fall apart.
