  • Super Fun RC Plane
The DEERC F18 4-Channel RC Plane is a "Ready-to-Fly" (RTF) hobbyist aircraft that replicates the iconic F18 fighter jet. Unlike 2-channel toys that only control throttle and steering, this 4-channel model provides a more authentic flight experience with control over throttle, elevator (pitch), aileron (roll), and rudder (yaw). Flight Performance and Tech The standout feature of this jet is its 6-Axis Gyro Stabilizer. This system acts as an "invisible hand" that constantly adjusts the control surfaces to fight wind and prevent stalls. Ease of Use: It features three flight modes (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). In Beginner mode, the gyro limits the tilt angles, making it nearly impossible to flip or crash the plane due to over-steering. Acrobatic Capability: Once you switch to Advanced mode, the gyro stabilization is reduced or turned off, allowing adults and experienced pilots to perform loops, rolls, and inverted flight. 2.4GHz Control: The remote provides a stable connection up to approximately 400–500 feet, and the anti-interference technology allows multiple planes to fly in the same area without signal crossing. Durability and Design Fighter jet models are often fragile, but DEERC uses EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) foam, which is highly flexible and impact-resistant. Crash Recovery: If you crash into grass or a tree, the EPP foam usually bounces or flexes rather than snapping. Major breaks can typically be fixed with a bit of foam-safe glue. Dual Takeoff: You can "hand-launch" the jet by tossing it into the wind at half-throttle, or use the included landing gear for a traditional runway takeoff if you have a smooth, flat surface. Battery and Content The inclusion of two modular batteries is a significant plus, as RC planes typically have short flight windows. Flight Time: Each battery provides roughly 10–12 minutes of flight, giving you a total of about 20–24 minutes per session. RTF Package: It comes with everything needed to fly right out of the box (except for the AA batteries for the transmitter), including spare propellers and a USB charging cable. Considerations Wind Sensitivity: Because it is made of lightweight EPP foam, this plane is best flown on calm days. High winds can easily carry it away or make landing difficult. Space Requirements: While it is a "glider" style aircraft, it moves much faster than a standard trainer plane. You will need a large open field (like a baseball park or soccer field) to fly safely. Final Verdict: The DEERC F18 is an excellent "next step" for someone who has mastered a 2-channel toy and wants a realistic-looking jet that can actually perform stunts. It is durable enough for beginners but has enough technical depth to keep adults entertained. ... show more

  • Good for beginners. Selectable Gyro stabilization helps with learning the basics
This is a decent beginner’s plane for someone learning to fly. The gyro stabilizer works well for beginners, and with the props in a protected position inside the wings coupled with it being very lightweight, it’s relatively durable and has survived multiple bad landings. It was disappointing to see the photo in this listing that claims “brushless motor power”…. I suppose it’s not technically false, but I do think it’s a little misleading. The motors could perhaps have the same power as some brushless motor somewhere, but the actual motors included on this plan have only 2 power wires each, making it almost certain that these are brushed, not brushless motors. Launching the plane by hand is much easier than trying to take off from the ground, and results in more of your battery life going towards flight time than “trying to fly” time. Given the very light weight of this plan, it’s best to fly only on very calm days, as it can be hard to keep control of it with any breeze. Overall, a decent “starter” plane for kids and beginners. ... show more

  • Fun RC jet that’s easy to get flying and holds up well
This RC F18 is a fun plane to fly and a good option if you want something that looks cool without being overly complicated. Setup was straightforward, and it was ready to fly without a lot of tweaking or frustration. In the air, it’s responsive and stable enough to enjoy without feeling twitchy. I found it works best in lighter wind, which is pretty typical for planes in this size and weight class. The controls are intuitive, and it didn’t take long to get comfortable with how it handles. Battery life has been reasonable for casual flying, and having spare batteries makes it easy to extend flight time. From a durability standpoint, it’s held up well so far to normal use and landings without feeling fragile. Overall, this is a solid RC plane if you’re looking for something fun and approachable that still looks like a proper jet. It offers good value for the experience, especially if you want something that’s enjoyable without a steep learning curve. ... show more

  • Take flight.
"Overall, this RC plane offers a lot of fun, especially for beginners. The EPP foam construction is surprisingly durable and can withstand several crashes without significant damage, which is a huge plus for new pilots. The 6-axis gyro stabilizer system works well to ensure a smooth, stable flight experience, and the dual battery setup provides decent flight time. The only minor retraction keeping this from a perfect five stars is that the instructions could be clearer on some minor assembly parts, and the control in very light wind requires a bit more finesse. Still, it's a great little flyer and excellent value for the price!" ... show more

This drone/plane is awesome. 5 stars. It's responsive, fly's fantastic, and really goes!! My 11 year old is in his glory! It's actually pretty strong too.

  • Flies okay, easy to control in the air, just limited
Nice plane for going in the field with someone relatively new and doodle bopping around, it is easy to fly, but it's design without rudders affects and limits the amount of manueverability so it can get a bit boring to fly, it is fast and durable and flies good though. Definitely what id call on the beginner end of the spectrum. ... show more
