Throw cushion pillow inserts are items that I've recently come into contact with as part of the interior design upgrading process of my home. These types of furnishings generally come under the heading of design accessories, and they come in many different sizes, shapes and price-points - - depending on the type of ultimate application, such as a living room sofa or armchair, a bedroom adornment to complement a well-outfitted bedding ensemble, or a comfort recliner chair. I actually listed the latter three examples as I've just finally completed the somewhat arduous task of researching, selecting and purchasing an adequate number of these small pillow insert products for them. With the additional help of my participation in Amazon's Vine Voice reviewer program, I recently acquired these final two insert pillows that I still needed as a result of my penchant for accumulating too many of the colorful and artistically designed outer-protecting covers. So, in case you don't know how this endeavor works, one first typically hunts through the many throw-pillow covers that are available online - - especially on Amazon where an abundance of selections abound. They come in many different sizes, such as very small 12"x12", medium-sized 14"x14" or 16"x16" and larger sizes such as 18"x18" or 20"x 20" varieties. In my case, I seem to have 'standardized' and narrowed-down my selections to the more-showy 18"x18", which IMO make for the perfect fit for most of the applications around my home. This 2-pack of 18"x18" versions are very well-made (as evidenced by the fine quality piping that surrounds the entire perimeter of each pillow's makeup). The white-colored fabric that covers the soft, resilient and 'excellent rebounding' polyester fiber-fill that provides the shape and major shape-component of each pillow is 'first-class'. Each of them can easily 'double' for a 'sleep-pillow' "in a pinch" if the absence of a conventional type sleep pillow occurs. My only slight reservation about this offering is the 'thickness' factor of each one of them. Almost all the other throw pillow inserts I've acquired by now are at least 1/3 'thicker' and more plump than these two currently under my review. I don't really know if this detail is an intended design feature, or if it's because of economic considerations to keep the cost down. In any event, they will work-in just fine with the many other variants I've accumulated - - perhaps the 'thinner-look' might after all make for an interesting, unintended design 'fashion statement' as I anticipate no problems integrating them among their other, thicker, existent 'cousins' that are so prominent in my household. One tip comes to mind: many online vendors recommend 'over-sizing' the insert by stepping-up to the next size (ostensibly to result in a 'fatter', more plump/tight-like look). I don't really 'buy into' that philosophy, as I always acquire the same size insert as the actual cover that will adorn it to make up the finished show pillow -- and they've always worked out fine. I once bowed to that illogical advice and purposely ordered a pair of 20"x20" inserts and I had a very unpleasant, frustrating time trying to stuff them into a pair of 18"x18"cover iterations. I all but split the seams of the zippered-covers before I quit on that 'devilish' experiment - - and back they went to the seller before the return-window shut.

I decided it was time to refresh my home. Part of this project included dry cleaning10 throw pillow covers and some arm rest covers, and replacing all of the pillow inserts. When I mentioned this to friends I was surprised at how many, like me, hadn't thought to do this on a regular basis. Doing a little research in preparation, I found that it is advisable to select inserts approximately two inches larger than the cover you are going to fill, e.g. use an 18" insert for a 16" pillow. I ordered these 18" inserts for my 16" pillows and they are a perfect fit. The inserts arrived very tightly vacuum packed, but when released, they immediately began to expand and continued to do so for many hours, resulting in lovely, fluffy pillows. These feel smooth and soft, so you could actually use them without covers if you so chose. They are even machine washable and dryable, so that would not be a problem if they became soiled. I spent some time and effort searching for pillow inserts to complete this project. It was great to find these on Amazon for a perfect fit at a fantastic price, and I didn't have to run all over town to pick them up.

Overall this is a good option for some throw pillows especially if they are more for decoration rather than for use. The fabric feels nice with a seemingly strong stitching. It does arrive vacuum sealed so after a few days the pillows feel fluffy enough. The 18x18 size seems to match my other 18x18 pillows from other brands. The only issue I have with this set is that the stuffing seems too small. The pillows just seem more flat than they should be in my opinion. If they had a bit more stuffing then this would easily be a 5/5. Not sure why they are flatter than other options. Due to the lack of stuffing I’d suspect these to break down quicker if they are used for anything other than decorative. I’ll probably end up getting some stuffing and filling them up myself. So overall 4/5. Everything is great except for the stuffing.

We got a new dog, and she loves laying on the couch. We had pillows that couldn't be washed and I was afraid she would ruin those. So I bought these pillows with new cushion covers. These are soft but not really fluffy. For us, they do the job of letting the dog lay on them, play on them, dirty them and still last. I've laid on them a bit as well (when we first got them) and they were comfortable. I always want the most plush soft pillow to sink into. This isn't it, but they do a nice job.

They filled out my 18” pillow covers nicely. They aren’t overly-stuffed and when I first got them, I worried they would look too flat, but once I crammed them into the covers, they looked just right. If they get flattened by use, they fluff back up easily. Overall, I’m satisfied!

The pillows were undetectable as pillows when delivered they were vacuumed down to a small rectangle. I was not sure what they were until the plastic was removed be very careful when cutting off. These are nice pillow inserts that have a great feeling polyester cover with siliconized fiber filling that rebounds well. The pillows are very soft and have a quality piping around the edge for a nice finish. I think these pillow inserts are a good value for the price of $20.

These pillow inserts are soft and well-made; I just wish that they were just a bit fluffier - I think that one solution for those who also wish for a plumper look to their throw pillows would be to size up (my covers are 18x18, so I should have chosen the 20x20 inserts).
