    • Works very well with a cumaru deck.
This stain is designed for and works very well for dense hardwoods. We just applied it so I can't attest to its' longevity but I'll update later. Much, much better than regular stains (we have used others and they don't last.

I used six gallons on my deck and bought 8 more gallons. Ipe was thirsty. Let’s see if it works at preserving Ironwood better than not using any for 15 years.

    • You have Ipe you must use this.
Ipe porch upgrade. Needed something to protect it. This stuff is the best and for the most part the only thing specific for Ipe. If you have Ipe wood, you must you something specific for Ipe. Do not get cheap. Easy to use and super forgiving is you get messy.

    • Best option I have found for Ipe
The deck is located in East Tennessee and exposed to lots of strong sun and rain. The beautiful stain color will stay for 3-5 months in the most sun exposed locations. Then the wood transitions to gray. The oil is easy to apply, I tend to use a brush to help get between the boards better. The stain goes a long way. I tend to get way more than the 250 square foot per can, closer to almost 500. I also wear a respirator. The VOCs are strong and prefer to not breath them in. Try to avoid getting it on your hand too. It is difficult to get off. ... show more
