I plunged into espresso over a year ago and purchased a fairly expensive manual machine. After the initial excitement wore off I found I was not using it that much because of all the work. Decided that making espresso manually was more of a leisurely weekend activity rather than a weekday one where all I want is a fix of caffeine as quickly as possible. Enter Delonghi Dinamica. My weakness is iced coffee with a little cream on top. Starts the day right. The Delonghi was exactly what I was looking for. The machine itself is a small footprint and the white version blends in well with my decor. It took me about 45 minutes to go thru the manual and figure everything out. After that it's been simple to maintain. There are warning lights that come on that tell you when you need to 1) Fill Water Tank, 2) Add Coffee bean and 3) remove coffee puck. It takes about 20 seconds to warm up in morning and it's ready to go. The grinding and pouring itself is also about 20 seconds. The only thing you need to be aware of is that the machine spout rinses itself with water a few minutes after pouring coffee so I always place an empty cup under the spout when the machine is not in use. The iced coffee is great. No complaints. Grind size is adjustable with a little wheel in the bean hopper. Water tank is not huge so if you have more than one person using machine daily you will likely need to refill every couple of days. Bean hopper is large enough to accommodate me for about 2 weeks. Milk frother works well - no issues. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I got a good deal on refurbished unit and saved 40% off. Only question mark on unit is longevity. July 15, 2023 Update: Have used the machine daily for a year and it is holding up well. No mechanical issues so far. To help ensure longevity I use bottled spring water (my tap water is very hard) and clean the brewer and drip tray monthly. The machine also has a descale light that came on after about about 6 months. Save your manual because following the descaling instructions was not that intuitive. Unit looks good as new. Still very satisfied with unit. May 26, 2024 Update: Still going strong without any issue. Needed to descale yesterday - probably the 4th time since purchase so about once every 6 months. Bought this as a Christmas present for my wife, set it up on Christmas morning AND it didn’t work… Gets stuck in the cleaning program, pretty sure that was the original reason it was returned. Definitely disappointed…

This is a nice home-based product. I think if it were in an office you'd be po'd because the last guy didn't refill the water reservoir, as it's smaller than it should be. At home all is good. Took a couple weeks and experimentation figuring out the button and processes, but now it's a quick cup of espresso or coffee, or iced coffee. Great flavor, not too loud when it grinds. Had to remember to stick a cup under the flow to capture the water when it cycles on/off, rather than letting it go into the bottom tray. Bought this one as a refurb or return/resell so saved some $$. Think I got a good deal. ... show more
