    • New DeLonghi Maestro Dedica Machine won't descale as advertised.

We were so excited to upgrade from our 2nd Espresso machine which we've had for 3-4 years and still working fine. So, we checked around and read reviews and ended up choosing the DeLonghi Maestro Dedica machine. Two weeks into using it our descaler red light came on. So, we read up on using the descaling mode processing setup on the machine...got our DeLonghi descaling solution out and went by the book on doing our descaling. Our machine will not run the descaling mode...have tried repeatedly to run it. Did the "hold down the two buttons" and then press the descaling button. Nothing. We've written DeLonghi and they sent me a form letter to make sure I'm doing the rinse after descaling...it's gotten Kafkaesque with DeLonghi where nothing is getting done. Have not received a customer service response with any help. My machine is one month old and we're in a fix here on how to proceed, what to do. Amazon has promised (just got off the phone with Amazon and they said to try and talk to DeLonghi and IF they're no help, that Amazon would step up to kick start whatever is going to happen ) Thank you Amazon. I'll follow up with this on monday. Paying this much $ for a faulty machine with no customer service is frustrating. PART 2....I've been on hold now today for 45 minutes...NO CUSTOMER SERVICE with this company. I've been writing about my problem with Delonghi since June....they just keep kicking the "can" down the road and doing nothing. They seem to not cross reference any of my emails with my serial number, videos of the problems. Finally got a service rep with a really hard to understand accent...and they were of no help...again. Took a few failures to get the quantity and grind right for this one, but once I did it's great. Dislikes: no feet or sticky pads to secure to counter top, small lightweight machine - it moves with every touch. Steam wand will leak excess water every cup, make sure its over the tray...

Expensive for what it is... You can find better coffee machines for the same price in my opinion. It works fine (although I had a small leak sometimes when refilling the tank), but the steam wand is pretty slow to warm-up and there is no 3-way solenoid valve (i.e. coffee still drips after pressing the stop button to finish your espresso). So far I love it. It looks good. It works good. Great machine for a beginner. They really tried to make it newbieproof. You can get a pretty good cup of espresso with these machines, and I’ve seen a lot of people spend a ton of money on bigger more expensive machines, and make some really sour or bitter coffee.     • Machine Descales Too Often

The machine works great except that the Descaler light has been coming on every 8 to 13 days since we bought the machine a few months ago. Descaling the machine takes an hour, which is much longer than our previous Breville machines. De'Longhi says the water impacts the descaling process but we use Primo filtered water. They said this may not have enough minerals. I'm currently dealing with De'Longhi customer service and regret buying this machine. ... show more
