I bought this RAM for another motherboard I had bought on another platform. My existing computer was 32 bit with Windows 10, so it could only recognize 4 GB of the DDR3 RAM that I had installed. Also, since it was a 32 bit computer, I could not upgrade to Windows 11. Now I bought a new Gigabyte mother with a AMD Ryzen CPU bundled with it. I thought I was going to replace the two 8gb sticks I had installed. Turns out, I had two open slots. 48gb of RAM not too shabby!

    • Unfortunately, one of the two sticks was defective
I ordered and promptly received 32GB in two 16GB sticks. Brand new unopened package. I installed them, being sure to discharge any static electricity and clear any dust from slots (not my first rodeo). However only 16GB was detected by Windows and BIOS. CPUID did see both sticks. Through process of elimination, found that one of the sticks was defective. PC refused to boot at all when that stick was solely installed. Luckily, Amazon promptly accepted the return of the memory. Lesson learned. Pay a little extra and stick with known good brand name memory. I ordered Corsair memory and it installed with no issues. ... show more
