Not great welds on the first kit so I sent it back. Had stalactites hanging down about 1/2" form crappy welds. The replacement was better but also needed a MAF extension. No way it would plug in - wire connector on the car was too short. We'll see how it runs. The media could not be loaded. Had to cut mass air flow sensor wires on 2006 Scion XB ( extended them ) to make them reach. Also need to remove battery to fit filter in ( May switch to a smaller size cone when cleaning time comes ) I did feel an extra boost on acceleration. Just installed it.     • Good, but with a few small issues.
This really should be like 4.5 or something close. It is a nice piece but there are a few small things that are negatives against it. 1- The welds that attach the support, MAF, and Vent tube are kind of bad. They over-penetrated a lot especially for the MAF sensor. So much so that there is a piece that protrudes into the airflow space that is close to 1/2" long. 2- If you own fog lights the install will be pretty difficult. I had to remove the whole fog light to fit it, and had to leave the bulb out when I put it back. It's still very tight. 3- Tiny annoyance but the rubber mount was more difficult to install than it should've been. It almost felt like the threads were slightly the wrong pitch. I had to put the nut on all the way and use that to screw in the mount. Overall good product, and I am pleased with it, just wanted to give you a few things to know before you get it. ... show more

    • Works, but the fitment could be better.
Well, it works, but the fitment could be better. As other reviews state, the mounting bracket to connect it to the battery isn't positioned properly and the MAF position and angle put it VERY close to the battery. The silicone hoses are nice, as is the evap check valve bracket. The tube looks nice; I didn't notice any poor welds as another reviewer did. Also, this one seems to be very susceptible to water intrusion, which I didn't notice before with the other brands I've used. Now granted, I'm running without inner fender liners, which doesn't help. This replaced a Weapon-R dragon, after the mounting bracket weld gave out. (this was cheaper than what the shop wanted to TIG weld the bracket). This is a bit quieter than the Weapon-R one, but fitment isn't as good. This one came with all the proper accessories and mounting hardware, where the Weapon-R came with either the wrong ones or they just didn't fit as they should have. All in all, this one is working and is OK. I wouldn't buy it again unless they changed the fitment. Also, I may go back to a foam filter element to try and prevent the water intrusion from splashing from the tires. ... show more

    • Noticeable performance change and very cool sound!
I am very happy with this SR-intake. The install was very easy and is bolt-on so it fits perfectly without having to bend or weld anything! I can tell the difference at higher speeds and it has a very cool throaty sound when driving! The bonus is that it is California CARB compliant so I don't have to worry about getting a ticket for an illegal mod in California, They even give you a sticker with a serial number on it that you can place on the part so if you do get it inspected it will be passable ... show more

This intake was my first major project to my 04 xB and at first it was daunting to look at instructions without any pictures. There are a few okay pictures in some of the reviews however that were decent reference. It sounds amazing and is very easy to hear with stock exhaust. I don’t have fog lights installed so I didn’t have the issues that some are having with fitment. Overall a very good product exactly as advertised ... show more

    • Looks great and probably sounds great...if you don't have fog lights on your car
I imagine this item would be great except for one glaring detail. It doesn't fit if you have factory (or aftermarket, I assume) fog lights installed. This item doesn't fit my vehicle due to the factory fog lights. They really need to mention that since it's vital info for owners to have and not some aftermarket mod that is preventing installation. I wasn't able to install due to this fact, but unfortunately I didn't realize this until I have already pulled the stock filter assembly AND the battery from the vehicle. Personally, as a buyer, I rely on other buyers’ reviews before making my purchases. I only hope this review was useful to you. ... show more

    • Questionable fit...
Installation was on a 2006 Scion Xb, the final placement of the intake filter put it right up next to the left turn signal under the bumper. I had to clamp the filter on at a funny angle in order to get it to clear the light housing. The quality control wasn't up to par either. The air intake tube had welding burn-thru drips hanging inside the tube, something that could have possibly broken off and damaged my engine. It functions, so that's why 2 stars instead of only one.
