This DBSOARS-branded GO speaker was bought as a replacement for an older AOMAIS-branded GO speaker that looks exactly the same. I suspected that the Bluetooth pairing circuitry in the DBSOARS GO might be exactly the same as the Bluetooth pairing circuitry that was in my old AOMAIS GO speaker. Lo and behold, this DBSOARS GO speaker broadcasts the device name "AOMAIS GO" during the process of pairing with a Bluetooth device. I had no problem with that, because I already was familiar with the AOMAIS. But, it might be confusing to a customer who buys this DBSOARS-branded speaker, when their speaker shows up as an "AOMAIS GO" during Bluetooth pairing, rather than a name that contains the words "DBSOARS". I am currently trying to transition toward using devices that have USB-C (USB Type C) power connectors, when I buy new devices that require low voltage DC power input. The presence of a "USB-C" power input connector on the DBSOARS GO speaker seemed (at time of purchase) like it would be a huge bonus. Yes, the DBSOARS GO speaker has a USB-C power input jack. However, the charging circuitry of the DBSOARS GO speaker ONLY seems to work with "dumb" 5 Volt DC chargers. Several of my so-called "smart" USB-C wall chargers DO NOT seem to be compatible with the DBSOARS GO. When I plug the DBSOARS GO into some "smart" USB-C chargers, nothing happens. It seems that the DBSOARS GO will only charge properly if it is provided with 5 Volts DC, pure and simple, through the USB-C power input jack. The charging circuitry of the DBSOARS GO is seemingly unable to "tell" a smart USB-C charger that it requires 5 volts DC. After failing to negotiate with the attached DBSOARS GO, some smart chargers simply give up, and deliver NO POWER at all to the speaker. Other smart chargers "default" to delivering 5 volts DC (after the attempted negotiation fails), which is okay for the DBSOARS GO. Your own experience using smart USB-C chargers with the DBSOARS GO may vary. The "dumb" 5 volts DC USB-A wall charger that comes with the DBSOARS GO does work okay. But, having to haul around one specific "dumb" 5V USB-A wall-wart (and the accompanying USB-A to USB-C cable) so that I can charge my ostensibly "USB-C" bluetooth speaker was a true disappointment.
