I have purchased two of these in the last year and half. The first one worked for 9 months. When it stopped working, I opened it up and the interior was rusted out and the magnet on the wall was broken. I did not make any issue of it at the time, I know I use my boat in the saltwater. I did think that it should of been sealed better, especially since my original one went 17 years. Then I purchased my latest one and installed it on labor day weekend 2014. Due to other issues with the boat, I was not able to use it for several months. After installing it, I ran the motor up and down several times and it worked great. When I finally did get my boat working, the trim motor did not work. I then opened it up, since I did not want to spend anymore money on another one if I did not have to. I found the windings and magnets rusted. The motor was not turning freely. I was able to clean it up and get it to work. When I put it back together I sealed it better, and we shall see how long it lasts. ... show more

Fit perfect on my Yamaha ox66 225 outboard. I took the liberty to paint before installing for added protection as corrosion is usually the cause of death. Time will tell on how long it lasts.
