  • value-priced alternator...worked on the first start.....very cool
the car was already 16+ years old and finally would not run the AC well. The tow truck guy said the alternator was not charging right. We towed it home and i put a meter on it and watched some You Tube videos on how to check the voltage level with and without the load of the AC. Indeed it looked like it was the problem. The battery seemed okay....but not enough power for peak loads.... It was really hard to get the old one out with seized flange nuts....i had to use a dremel tool to cut those off and had to replace the nut for the long bolt. When i finished, i cranked it and started the AC and the problem was gone.....everything working. The car is still old and falling apart.... we will keep driving it locally until it falls apart.....tires and brakes worth more than the car..... ... show more

  • it takes 4.8 hours to install
I purchased this defective alternator and it has cost me a lot of time and headache and money I had a mechanic installed this only to find out that this is not working estimated repair hours is 4.8 at $135 an hour plus I had to have my car towed to the shop to take the old item back and return it to Amazon would also cost me additional labor this is unjust to sell items that are not certified and tested the fully functioned just the warranty certificate items like this where the labor cost five times more than the parts should be fully warrantied that they will will work during the installation unless they were shipping damage there was no shipping damage to this item it came in a perfect box it is just a defective I wish to get reimbursed for the cost that has accrued for purchasing this item from Amazon I also called the customer support team and talked to Anna which she could not help me and she couldn't understand my language which was clearly spoken in English I feel like I've been let down as a consumer I have spent thousands of dollars with Amazon but I have never experienced anything this costly for purchasing a simple item please make this right for me I would like this to be escalated to the highest level at Amazon customer service because this is unjust and unfair. ... show more

  • Does fit 2002 Altima 3.5 l
I don't know why, but if you review say it doesn't fit the 2002 Nissan Altima SE 3.5 l. I have one and it in fact fits fine so I'm not sure what their issue is. It is noisier than the original but otherwise has worked fine for the last 6 years, but seems to be beginning to malfunction and getting noisier. ... show more

  • Defective, did not charge battery
This did not put out enough power to charge the battery. Charging system failure caused the vehicle to stall out after a very short amount of time driving. Bought a hitachi, and that immediately solved the charging system issue.

  • Hell of a price…not much to lose
I have had a total of 4 Duralast (AutoZone) alternators Installed in my 03’ Altima 3.5 since the original failed. On average they cost around $210, maybe a little less with a coupon. The longest life I got on one of those was about 3 years. The others failed in under that. At $91, Chinese made or not, this replacement seemed like a no brainer to try given the age of the car and not wanting to break the bank. I took the job on myself (which is a bit of a PITA) but the alternator is a perfect fit, no issues with the install, very quiet with no obvious bad diodes/bearings etc and is pushing out the proper voltage. I’m back up and running for now. 4 stars in the interim as the real story will be told with its life span. I may give this companies starter a whirl as well as it got pretty good reviews. The only cheaper option than this would be a pull from a parts yard but if you don’t know the mileage of the car, it’s an obvious gamble. ... show more
