Great quality for a great price and works great!
I did a bunch of comparisons before ordering this alternator. When it arrived, it looked great--exactly as expected. The install went great, and the voltage reading coming into the battery was great, and the little Beetle went great soon after!

It was the exact specs that I was looking for. It was easy to install and very affordable.
I was looking for an 19amp alternator with a VW Beetle, I went to auto parts store and they had the core without the pulley. I am glad that I checked on Amazon. It was affordable, the specs were exact and matched up well with old core. I did not have to spend additional money to purchase the pulley and everything came as shown. Cheapest Alternator I could find and it's still working 12 months later...
I purchased this about a year ago for my daughter's 2003 VW 2.0liter and was a bit hesitant thinking "you get what you pay for" but everything has been good thus far. I believe I even purchased this as "used", thinking someone maybe attempted to install but realized they had the wrong unit as there were zero signs of use aside from packaging. ... show more

Seems nice but will it last??
Great price considering all the parts stores want $180+ - fitment was perfect. I'm certain this is a Chinese rebuild as there are no OEM Bosch parts here, even the voltage regulator. Will it last?? Tine will tell but its putting out a healthy 14v under load, I've only had it dip into the 13s on a hot engine at startup. Once it;s going it works fine. ... show more

This alternator replaced the original Bosch unit perfectly in my 2001 VW New(?) Beetle. It is an easy DIY job that you can do in an hour. Don’t pay the dealer, just order this one and watch a YouTube video. Get out there and get it done. ❤️😎
