Great quality and smooth operation, which I expected from SmallRig. Rolls smoothly and locks solid. Easy to adjust, and easy to install and remove on a tripod. A note to others looking for a dolly for a big Celestron style 8-inch telescope, this dolly is not big enough to use with the Celestron tripod when the legs are fully extended, which was my intended use. It will work with the legs retracted, but that leaves the telescope pretty close to the ground. It handles the weight fine, but the legs on the tripod do not fold in if you have the spreader installed. I personally feel the weight and center of gravity would make the telescope top heavy if the spreader is removed to collapse the legs to fit the dolly at its widest setting. This is NOT a criticism of the dolly, since it is not advertised for this purpose, just a note to others looking for a good quality dolly for their big SCT scope.

This is a quality product for the price. It is reasonably priced compared to other dollies. My only issue is with the locking mechanism. It is too hard to unlock and when you’re doing a running gun shoot, you need to be able to unlock the wheels fast. other than that, it’s very smooth and you can tell that it’s made of quality parts. It can be adapted to any tripod or stand although I do think they should consider making a higher capacity one and maybe one a little longer for larger tripods or C stands.

I ordered this to use on a new “Shape” double riser low boy tripod. The legs on the tripod are square and included slip on rubber feet. This SmallRig tripod dolly was a typical SmallRig high quality addition for the new tripod to be used exclusively in my studio. The only glitch was the pretty large square tripod legs did not engage the dolly very well. There were already cut out holes near the base of the legs making it possible to tighten everything perfectly with very large heavy zip ties I already had on hand. This dolly is well constructed heavy duty and will be used for a new tethering station with laptop tray, 27inch monitor, and camera mount making it an absolute winner for me. I got the 44lb capacity so will handle the load without worry or concern.

Not knocking anyone else's experience. But it works great. I also didn't think this will work on bumpy asphalt or rough terrain. For a film crew that needs a smooth movement, or a fan that's stationarity (what I used it for). Is it pricey? Ya kinda, but you get what you pay for. This thing GLIDES, not slides, not just a roll. I can give it a slight nudge and it moves a few feet, easy! (For conversation at least 3-5 feet,1- 2 meters for metric folk). Maybe if you wanted to do a retro fit with larger casters for asphalt, but with what it comes it's a very handy tool. Measurements in description were pretty accurate (within 1/2in, or 13mm from what I quickly checked). It almost took me longer to get it out of the box than to set it up. Very straight forward. I highly recommend. Will update in a few months.

It does its job very well. The 3 inch wheels are ideal for moving around and not feeling small bumps or surface imperfections. It feels tight and tough. I only wish the carrying bag had a little easier way to grab the strap or to put on my shoulders.

Instant production value. But you'll still need to stabilize since you need a perfectly flat surface to roll on. Would be awesome of they had 5" inflated wheels to smooth out the cracks and bumps in floors. It's also hard to get the wheels all in alignment. 5th star would be if you could lock the wheel rotation to easily reproduce a move back and forth. Some wheels have a rotation lock. The wheel locks also function well but are a little small and hard to disengage.
