"THIS ITEM DOES NOT FIT YOUR VEHICLE." Thats what came up on the screen as I viewed this alternator. After checking my local auto parts stores and failing to find a replacement for my 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 alternator I figured Amazon was my next best hope. One of the local shops even ordered the alternator from their supplier just to find that it was missing the battery connector and the mount was rotated in the wrong direction. Upon further inspection I found the pulley was the wrong size. So, the Amazon part showed up. The battery connector was again missing, you can see in the pictures above that it is there. No big deal as the wires were terminated with crimp connectors and even had shrink wrap provided. The mount orientation was correct as was the pulley size. Bottom line: THIS ITEM FITS my 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 perfectly. And because it is clean and polished (pulley) it looks good enough to show at events. ... show more

    • Misleading picture
The alternator works however, the picture shows that it’s plug-in play. When this one arrived, I realized it’s the exact same. I could’ve gotten at the local parts store. You have to wire it yourself. Nice try.

Upgraded wiring solution. Great idea good for them. crimp connectors , easy to do with the old wiring. Very happy. Dont worry about some of the other reviews complaining about the re-wire. Easy to cut three wires, put inside the crimp connector , crimp then use the shrink tubing that comes with the alternator and your DONE. Finally someone doing the right thing for the customer.     • Not direct plug and play fit for 1992 Bronco with 5.8 motor
Does not have two wire connection plugs as shown in the pictures. One connection point has 3 wires. I'd rather not do a bunch of splicing. No matching wire ends to mate up with the wires on the alternator either.
