This product sort of worked four times. It never peeled from the top to the bottom completely. The piece that clips in to peel the apple, is not sharp, and after a few uses, it would get clogged with peel in the first couple seconds. I would unclog it, which was hard and tedious, just for it to clog again. It has sat on my counter ever since. And this was just with "kid sized" apples. No wonder its so cheap. ... show more

I was afraid that the batteries would not last in this little gem but they are holding up strong. In a family of 6 we have been constantly peeling apples and potatoes this weekend and my toddler is loving the "strings" of apple we are making by going over the sides again and again.

There is a power cord, or a place for batteries. I had no idea it was electric. I thought it was hand cranked. Plastic feels a touch cheap, but still sturdy Edit: after owning it for several months, the peeler blade gets dull pretty quick. Not sure if I can get just the blade....

This is a very attractive, very lightweight, ingenious device. The IDEA of it is great. The execution is quite frustrating. It works really well on hard fruit. It does not work AT ALL on ripe fruit. Soft fruit, like ripe pears,just get pushed off in a messy glop. Hard fruits are great but go through blades quickly. Order extra now - you will need them. And know that you will still have to hand peel the upper and lower fifths of each fruit. Since I have arthritis, I will keep it and know I Will still have work to do. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This product works exactly as described. Really easy to use. At first it takes a few tries, but once the technique is down it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Faster than Grandma!

    • Works well if you've got a lot of peeling to do
I don't know that this is a ton faster than peeling yourself, but it saves you a lot of work if you happen to have a lot of apples to deal with. It's also fun which counts for something. My almost 3 yr old loves to press the button. My only complaint is that food/peels can't get stuck near blade and it's hard to clean out. EDIT: Tried to use it again and the food/peels getting stuck near the blade has become a huge issue. I also think that my larger apple may be making it harder to peel. I cannot get it to peel my large Jonnagold apples. Sad. It might do smaller apples, but I needed something that would work for everything. I ended up returning it and purchasing the Victorio VKP1010 Apple and Potato Peeler, Suction Base which works excellent for what I need. Having it be hand crank wasn't bad, although electric was nice too. ... show more

Bought this for my mom who has really bad arthritis in her hands and has issues peeling fruits and vegetables, it works great and is a great product. Peels potatoes and apples no problem. Haven't tried others but sure it works fine.
