I used a donut mix first - cooks well and quick, but the donut mixes are expensive - tastes much better than store bought tho! So I tried the small muffin mix bag with 1/4 cup of milk - perfect batter consistency! I just put the muffin mix in a quart size zip lock bag, put the milk in, squished it together, then cut a hole in the bottom corner of the zip lock bag to use as a pastry bag! Viola! What?! Little donuts in about 2-3 min! With no bowl to clean up! It will make about 14 mini donuts! You can add a powdered sugar glaze easily if you like!😄 ... show more

Nope, not at all. My donut obsessed 9 year old is always dreaming about donuts. These kind of come out closer to donut shaped mini waffles, but we are having so much fun as a family experimenting with the batters and glazes, that I could probably smuggle broccoli in there and they would be a hit. My kiddo told me it is one of the best gifts she could have asked for because now she gets donuts all the time (ok 2x in one week, but hey...we have low donut standards in this house). I got this product and immediately made banana donuts from some over ripe bananas I had. They came out absolutely perfect and LOVE how East it is to use and how fast it cooks!! Pipe the batter in and in 2 minutes donuts are done!! They really are mini too so you don’t have to feel guilty popping a couple in your mouth even on diet days!! Great donut maker. Fast, easy & fun recipes. We started with the chocolate frosted & plan to do many more. Maybe apple cinnamon with some cider or the banana. Nice machine, many recipes, quick cleanup.

For a product with a name of "Express" this donut maker is far from that. Per the instructions, each batch requires a flip and 5:30 minutes of total bake time. The recipes make 28 donuts, divide 7 donuts per bake, and you have a 20 minute bake time. Like another review, I found that the heating was not even and this resulted in overcooked and undercooked sections of each donut. Better off with a mini donut pan that fits in a toaster oven. With a specialty product, you expect that it would produce superior product. This, unfortunately, is not the case. ... show more
