This is an electric hotplate so those folks who are used to gas need to recognize the difference. The plate heats up very fast and maintains for lengthy periods. This one is red, it matches my kitchen counter and all the other red appliances and Nick Max, and it works good enough. I wish the temperature control was a little easier to read, and I had more variables but again it’s red and it matches and it works.

I only need this to be warm so temp didn't matter much. If you think you're going to do some elaborate cooking and it's going to hold a temp this is not the gadget for you. It looks really nice, no metal parts to rust, looks to turn on fast and it does, but it doesn't heat the pan very fast. For me, this used machine serves its purpose.
