  • Far exceeded my expectations!
This cockpit is really great. Let’s start with delivery and logistics, it was quick via fedex. Ordered Tuesday afternoon, and it was at my door on Friday by noon. Packaging is decent, and most things showed up looking brand new with a few exceptions. (2) of the base bars did show up with some heavy scratches, presumably from shipping which isn’t the biggest deal in the world, but maybe put a few pieces of cardboard to separate all the metal parts in the box. Instructions were pretty much useless, but the videos under the product description here on Amazon do a really great job at showing the instructions, so I’d recommend watching that instead. Construction of the cockpit is REALLY SOLID. The thing has no budge when I’m really going at it on the track or drifting. Which is a huge upgrade to the wheel and pedal stand I had before, as it would regularly want to tip when I rotated the wheel hard. The only 2 weak point in the build quality I would have to say are the pedal mount, which has the smaller ever so slightest budge when you’re braking hard, and the steering wheel mount which has slightly more give when you’re going hard. I was able to combat this by using a few wooden shims under it, which obviously looks out of place, but I can deal with the tradeoff of more rigidity. The shifter/handbrake mount plate is solid, and so is the seat rail and seat. This thing is such a great value for the price. I was between this, and the Next Level GTRacer 2.0 that was $450, and I liked the idea of the cloth seat because I’ve used the GT Racer and it gets HOT. So for $120 less, it was definitely worth the pick, in my opinion. All the hardware is nice stainless steel and seem heavy duty enough for what they’ll be used for. Got everything tight and nothing has come loose in the 3 days I’ve been using it. My one and only gripe about it has to be the cloth seat fabric. The seat itself if nice and comfortable, I find myself sitting in it to watch YouTube videos rather than my office chair lol but the fabric that they chose is almost like a fleece, which is really hard to keep clean and pet fur free. Yeah it might not be a problem if you don’t have pets, but having a German shepherd means this thing is a fur magnet. However, the reclining feature of the seat, as well as the sliding adjustment feature is a great offset to the negative. Overall, this thing is probably the best cockpit you can get, as far as comfort, rigidity and adjustability for the price. Will update this review in the future if there are any issue that lead to premature wear or failures. If you’re on the fence about this one, get it. It’s a really high quality product for the price and will allow your driving skills to far exceed what you can do on a desk mount, or even a wheel/pedal stand, because you don’t have to worry about anything tipping or falling over. ... show more

  • Highly recommend
Very nice. Heavy-duty. Easy to assemble. Seat is extremely comfortable. Works perfectly with my Logitech G923 setup.

  • Frame very sturdy. Made for the heavier person.
Bought this for my 14yr old son. So far he loves it. The frame is very sturdy. This is made for someone over 200lbs. Would 100% trust the 500lbs capacity(on the frame). Good hardware, I used blue threadlocker on the main frame to ensure the bolts don't loosen. Only negative is the seat. Good quality material(cloth), very good cushion, very comfortable. But, it only has the one bracket on the right side w/the seat recliner. The other side just has a peg and hole type attachment. So if push back against the seat it bends back on the left side. Would be better if it had a bracket on both sides. The recliner doesn't auto return to the lock position, have to pull up, adjust seat back then push back down to ensure seat back position locks. Love the seat slider allows from me to race and then my taller sons to race comfortable aswell, with any being to far or close to the wheel and pedals. Overall great racing rig for the price. Will probably buy second for my older son. ... show more

  • Great value and very sturdy (except the seat)
Really solid frame, easy to assemble with basic hand tools, includes plenty of extra hardware. Cons: seat feels very cheap and flimsy - I'm treating it gently because it feels like it won't hold up for long; assembly instructions are extremely obtuse, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so while I was able to figure it out, many will likely struggle. Seller sent an email letting me know the seat and frame ship separately and not to install the seat base before attaching it to the seat, so I appreciate that they recognized people's negative feedback and take the extra step to communicate. ... show more

  • Mixed quality and compatibility, but a good product overall.
The steel part of the rig has a nice build to it and is very nice. The seat however was not as durable and snapped in only a few months of use. There were some other issues as well such as the sharp plate where the wheel is placed on which cut my wires during installing which caused me to need another power supply for my wheel. All of that aside the build was not too hard, I was able to complete it solo. The tools provided weren’t the best, using hook allen keys to screw things in solo with such a short reach isn’t ideal but they got the job done but if you plan on readjusting things I’d recommend getting your own allen key set for an easier time with more reach especially if you are building solo. It’s a good product overall considering the rig itself being very sturdy even after the upgrade to the G Pro Pedals, though it isn’t very compatible with the G Pro wheel so if you are planning to later upgrade to it choose something else, if you are staying with the G920 this is the prefect rig for it. The only real let down being the seat. ... show more

  • Well Rounded Racing Rig for Experienced Racing.
Why 4 stars instead of 5 stars?!? Id say it should really be 4.5 stars but you can't select it. I owned the Next Level fold chair set up and upgraded to this because I also upgraded a direct drive wheel and load cell pedal. Many of the rigs that $600 and up still have stability flaws or are a little overpriced. This unit (cockpit 54) has robust tubing and come with a chair for ~$415. Thats a deal!! Its much more solid than the $250 folding chair styles and has a real reclining seat that's kinda sporty feeling even at entry level comfort. I was worried abour the pedal tray flexing or the wheel mount flexing, but they both have minimal flex fortunately. The three things that I think need to be said are: 1. Dont tighten any chassis bolt down until all flange holes have bolt/nuts in them as you may need to hold some in place to line them up and they'll need to be loose. 2. Youll want to goto a store and get some 6m bolts and spacers to find slightly better wheel and pedal angles. 3. If you do a little puzzle solving you can actually mount the pedals inverted and eliminate a lot potential pedal flex and have better control. For less than $500 bux, its a great platform, but its even cheaper if you already have a seat. ... show more
