  • Perfect for Tall People!!!
I got this for my husband for Christmas. He was previously just using a stand and a kitchen chair to play F1, need for speed etc, and it was killing his back and neck. He'd been looking at the Dardoo sim cockpit for a while, but wouldn't pull the trigger, because he was worried about cluttering up the living room. I don't care--he quit smoking a couple of months ago and if this keeps him occupied and away from the cigarettes, clutter away. But I digress. The cockpit itself is REALLY sturdy and it looks pretty cool too. It took about 3 hours to put together, but granted that was after a few rounds of cocktails. He said the hardest part was getting the seat attached to the frame. (there was a lot of cursing and a bit of "it would have made more sense to do it this way") While I was watching the final steps of assembly, I was thinking "oh crap. there's no way he's going to fit in this thing". It honestly looked kind of short. But too my surprise, his 6'4" frame fit perfectly, AND if he puts the seat all the way back, he can barely reach the pedals. I was shocked. I'm 5'6", and I have to have the seat all the way up and I can barely reach the pedals. I'm not sure if that has something to do with where he put the pedal board though. The Dardoo cockpit has a lot of adjustability for the parts and pieces you attach, according to my husband. For frame of reference, he's got the Logitech G923 pedals and steering wheel. I don't know if the pedals and stuff for different brands would make a difference to anyone who's thinking of purchasing, but these fit perfectly. The seat is pretty comfortable so far, but there hasn't been any super long play time in it yet. He doesn't have the shifter, but it does come with the shift lever platform. I just mention it because if anyone looks at the picture, it's not attached. We still need to do some cord management, but I'm really happy with the setup. My husband is happy, the cats are indifferent. All in all a great buy. ... show more

  • Sturdy!!!
Extremely easy to assemble. Pretty thick tubular metal design and very sturdy. With it only being slightly higher in price compared to cockpit's with a much less sturdy design its worth the extra money. Have not set up my wheel and pedals but there is alot of adjustment. 3 positions for the pedals and 9 different combinations for positions of the steering wheel. ... show more

  • Very Solid, Adjustable, Relatively Simple.
This cockpit and seat are well designed and very solid. Assembly is straightforward and relatively simple for any DIY’er. There are enough adjustment options to meet all of my needs. Well worth the purchase price. The shifter/handbreak platform makes for a sturdy stand for whatever you want to use it for. The email from Dardoo explaining there are two shipments and a hint on how to attach the seat were helpful. A note on seat attachment: There isn’t enough space to fit a wrench or socket on the nut that attaches the seat to the frame. I used a flat tip screwdriver to hold it in place. A square head nut that fits into the slot would be a good addition to the assembly kit. Also, if you own a Thrustmaster TMX be ready to acquire or construct a hardstand adapter. So far the piece of wood as pictured works for me but I’m guessing it will loosen up eventually. This is not a cockpit design flaw in any way, the TMX is just made to clamp to a table. ... show more

  • Strong and comfortable
Very easy to assemble. Very sturdy construction. It comes with rubberized floor pads. I changed them out for casters so I can easily move it when not in use. Excellent product

  • Good value for money
The cockpit is pretty solid. I was preoccupied that the pedal mount would bend when applying pressure with load cell pedals. It does, but very little, almost not noticeble in game. The assembly is pretty straightforward, it takes about 3-4 hours. The only difficult part is attaching the chair itself. The video does not help. You need to disassemble the sliders and attach them to the mount first. The only drawback is the lack fine tuning: you can move the pedal mount a little bit back or forward, and change the angle. I used the middle holes for the wheel mount, tried other options, but they were too extreme and useless. The chair itself is not super comfortable, but I think you get used to it. I also ordered caster wheels, should make it easier to move it around. Overall I think it’s a good value for $300 that gets the job done. ... show more
