Description

Charles Danner came to Oregon in 1936 to make durable, high-quality boots for Pacific Northwest loggers. Inspired by those first caulked logger boots, the Logger 917 is a modern reinterpretation of a heritage design. A nubuck leather upper features a classic moc toe. A waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex liner shrugs off rain, snow and monster puddles. The Vibram SPE midsole and Vibram 917 outsole offer long-lasting comfort and reliable grip no matter where you spend your days. This boot is built on a new great-fitting, ergonomic last. It's true to size and has added footbed allowance for stability and greater underfoot support. It's easy to wear and comfortable for use in a variety of casual environments. Combines our traditional stitchdown technique with cup sole construction that allows the boot to keep a wider platform while eliminating the need for a buffed sidewall. This gives our sneaker boots a modern aesthetic and lightweight, flexible finish.

Best boots yet.

I was hesitant to shell out for these boots at first. Shoes are tough when you can’t try them on first, but I figured if worst comes to worst, I can return them. These boots are actually awesome. Minimal break-in, and felt comfortable right out of the box. I generally wear an 11.5 (US), and they fit perfectly. They appear to be well made and should last a long time with proper care. I can also have them re-soled down the road. I hit them with waterproofing before wearing, and have had zero issues with wet socks. And, they just look good. So comfy

I’m a middle school construction teacher so I’m walking on concrete all day. I wanted something that looks rugged but comfy. Danner never fail to impress, the comfort is amazing. My feet lean to the narrow side, these fit nice and snug so if you have wide feet I would order a wide.

Not worth it
Disappointed with durability of this boot. I made the mistake of working in them. The sole material around toe is too soft and chunks dug out from minor abrasions against rocks. They are handsome though and super comfortable, with great ankle support. Shame they dont hold up better

Very comfortable and versatile work/hike/casual boots
Great boots. I’m a little over 6 months in. Not sure I’d classify them as WORK boots, but they’re extremely comfortable and leather surround and suede are reasonably resistant to stains and abrasions. I use them in a warehouse/shop scenario and am fairly rough on boots (lots of bending, scuffing, dropping fluid/oil, etc). The rubber foam cushioning material (midsole) is very soft and easily tears out leaving them a little hairy looking. The outsoles are very grippy in almost all conditions. Some noticeable wear in the ball of my foot area. (I’ve got an even gait with no irregular patterns, fyi) I would guess that by the end of a year of wearing them, if wet traction is a requirement, resoling could be on the table. The upper leather/suede are certainly in good enough shape to merit a resole. I haven’t looked into the price for that, but at ~$250 for a new pair…it could be a tough metric unless a resole is much cheaper than I anticipate. All that said, I often find myself just wearing them instead of almost any of my other shoes, work or otherwise. Very comfy handsome boots that can be worn casually, on a hike, or in a reasonably controlled work environment. ... show more

Super comfy boot

Lightweight, super comfortable but do run a bit on the small side. Break in very quickly and the Vibram sole is very grippy. Midsole is not too cushiony or too stiff- just right! Highly recommend
